Mexican Consul Miguel Escobar . . . also agreed that the 26-year-old man was not detained

Tough for the left to argue this one.

The Mexican man had told sheriff's deputies that he was detained and forced to pose for a picture holding a T-shirt with a mocking slogan. The shirt read: "Bryan Barton caught an illegal alien and all I got was this T-shirt."

Dear Sweet God, it's worse than Abu Ghraib! Run for your lives! Holding a t-shirt??? The inhumanity!

Weep, America, for your shame!

Can this lying POS be charged with false testimony to authorities? These illegals are incredibly bold - you have to live here to understand that they care less about American laws or our citizens.

Thanks GW for showing your elitist liberal backbone that you grew in MA and act like your a Texan. GW is a sham and a joke.

Law enforcement officials have said they fear the project will lead to vigilante violence

Like this is necessarily a bad thing. Let's face it, these Mexicans are breaking into our country to take things that do not belong to them. It's no different from a common thief breaking into your house.

If they had killed him in the name of Allah the MSM would be praising the Minuteman Project by now.

Miguel simply realizes that the more attention this gets, the more the border issue is brought to the apathetic American's attention.

Miguel: nothing to see here. move along...

Mexico's foreign relations department also pledged to pursue all legal and diplomatic means to stop the illegal immigrants.

Guess not.

That would require improving their situation at home. That's too much to ask.

Thats not the reason why they are so fearful. If the Vols do a better job, then what are we paying the LEOs for?

What? An illegal alien falsely claiming to have been victimized... How can such a thing be?

"Law enforcement officials have said they fear the project will lead to vigilante violence."

As opposed to the incidents of violence perpetrated by illegals crossing over into the U.S.

"Bryan Barton caught an illegal alien and all I got was this T-shirt."

Actually, that gives me an idea for a T-Shirt:

"I voted Republican and all I got was this lousy T-shirt." :-)

...puts on flame-retardant suit.

What's the deal here? Is Mexican Consul Miguel Escobar now the arbiter of truth? Is he going to be called every time an illegal has an itch?

Send this S.O.B. back where he came from, and let it be known no more Consuls will be entertained until Mexico stops sending it's problems across our border.

"Mexico's foreign relations department also pledged in the days leading up to the civilian operation to pursue all legal and diplomatic means to stop the volunteers and ensure that they do not violate the rights of Mexican citizens."

They leave those "rights" either on the barbed wire or in the Rio Grande, don't they?

Or worse, lead to getting something done.

I'll bet the initial report made front page headlines. Conversely, this new revelation will be buried somewhere in the back.

Gee, so the illegal alien lied. What a shocker.

Doesn't surprise me these people are lying; I'm surprised there has not been more of it. Guess our president hasn't given Fox the idea yet. President Fox, by the way, is still protecting an illegal alien who was driving drunk in our town, and killed a woman.

He fled to Mexico and is being protected by the government of the people who are only coming here to do the jobs that Americans won't do.

I am fed up with President Bush and his administration. He has done more harm to America than Bill Clinton ever did. Bush can worry about establishing democracy in Iraq, but is blind to the pain and suffering of the American citizens who are living every day with these outlaw aliens taking over their communities.

If I ever vote for anybody again it will be a cold day you know where. I'll never vote for a vermin Democrat, and am sick to death of the mealy mouth Republicans in Congress who are so weak and timid they can't pass gas. They are destroying our country with open borders, while many stand by and say nothing.

Surprised some slimy lawyer didn't jump out from under a rock and try to assist the illegal alien in a lawsuit against the whole minuteman group for unlawful detainment or whatever other frivolous thing a slimy lawyer can think of.
(not to say all lawyers are slimy)
