Arabs beat French students.
The Weekly Standard ^ | Olivier Guitta

On March 8, tens of thousands of high school students marched through central Paris to protest education reforms announced by the government. Repeatedly, peaceful demonstrators were attacked by bands of black and Arab youths--about 1,000 in all, according to police estimates. The eyewitness accounts of victims, teachers, and most interestingly the attackers themselves gathered by the left-wing daily Le Monde confirm the motivation: racism.

Some of the attackers openly expressed their hatred of "little French people." One 18-year-old named Heikel, a dual citizen of France and Tunisia, was proud of his actions. He explained that he had joined in just to "beat people up," especially "little Frenchmen who look like victims." He added with a satisfied smile that he had "a pleasant memory" of repeatedly kicking a student, already defenseless on the ground.

Another attacker explained the violence by saying that "little whites" don't know how to fight and "are afraid because they are cowards." Rachid, an Arab attacker, added that even an Arab can be considered a "little white" if he "has a French mindset."

> So did the Foreign Legion. My friend called that force to the toughest in history.

The French Foreign Legion is mainly comprised of non-frenchmen. Hence the word "foreign".

Oh man, my friend showed me that a few years ago. It's a classic.

However, try the same thing, only search for "miserable failure"...you won't like the results.

No, just someone who believes that preservation of my own life is more important that that of the Trogolodyte attacking me. Thankfully, here in Washington State, we have the right to carry and use deadly force in defense of one's life.

Of course, the best form of self-defense is to avoid potentially violent situations.

I probably should've put the 'sarcasm' tag on there.

But if there were a war to free France I'm sure the liberals would not oppose it so long as a Democrat was in the White House.

Otherwise it would be Bush's fault.

(I'm surprised no one else got there first!)

"Fight back, unless doing so would get me killed."

I suppose I could see myself running away from such a fight. I only have two clips on me most days and I'd have to make a run to the gun shop for more ammo.

Mob situations are bad news. Even if armed, it's probably the best course to retreat if one can do so safely.

"these students and teachers did not deserve to be assaulted."

Those same students and teachers sneer at America for not being more like France.

They are being assaulted and not us.

Perhaps now they'll learn to be more like us.

They may not have deserved it, but they still invited it.

Therefore, all of the countries of immigration shall become more mixed. In America, that will change language influences, culture, and religion, but only from one piece of the West to the other

Have you read Bernard Henri Levy on the subject? He makes a similar point. He also adds the fact that American culture is very open and malleable (as opposed to the "blood and soil" culture of other nations) and has adapted over the years and absorbed many influences. Its much more difficult for Europeans (or Asians for that matter) absorb new immigrants, due to the fact that what constitutes "Frenchness" is rooted in a firm, less malleable cultural identity.

As I said earlier, I MUCH prefer having Mexicans and Central Americans (who are actually a hybrid of the Westerner and the Amerindian) than the Arabs.

There you have it: appeasement at work.

when do you stop running? you know, when you run - they chase you. it's better to make a stand. we need to learn to defend ourselves again, and to understand that it is our RIGHT to do so.

In some situations, running might be the only option. Sometimes, fighting back is a bad idea.

A guy I knew in law school found himself in a New Orleans jail where three gang members decided to smack him around and take his shoes. He was a big guy, ex-Marine, but he had to stand there and take it because he knew if he fought back, he might well have gotten killed.

Like I said, mob situations are bad news.

is it just me or does it seem that the further western countries move from their Christianity the more they are subjected to muslim attacks?? the dutch have just released a young terrorist back into their country when they had CLEAR evidence he wasn't planning field trips to the zoo. now the french cower in fear of arab thugs in their own country?? the further we as a nation move away from our traditions and faith the more we are going to face this kind crap in our own country. the fact that our three branches of government think it's great to starve a innocent woman to death at the will of a "husband" who abandoned her makes me wonder if this country is still blessed by God. i seriously have our doubts. when God no longer blessed the nation of israel what happened then?? perhaps that is the fate of our nation as well. i wonder..........

I thought at first this was the Onion. I almost feel sorry for the French and the situation they have gotten themselves into, to bad our politicians were also trying to get us into the same position here.

"i would think the answer would be to kick their muslim butts out of france."

But this is not possible.
How can you do that without establishing a blatant rule of racism?
There already is concerted effort expended to prevent illegal immigration, but there is also the natural increase of the immigrant populations already there, and there is the legal immigration of family members.

America faces a similar problem.
The USA could pass laws that would achieve the same sentiment: only people from white European countries of Protestant religion shall be permitted to freely immigrate into America, with quotas for South Asian and Oriental engineers perhaps. Otherwise, no blacks or browns or non-Protestants shall be permitted to immigrate. This will preserve American jobs as they are and preserve the language and religious culture of America. No more family reunification visas will be granted, except to those of European stock...who can freely immigrate anyway.

Is this even envisionable in America?
No.
Why?
Because it betrays the very foundational principles of the American republic, that all men are created equal, etc.

The only way to preserve your culture is to limit immigration to white Protestant north Europeans. But to erect that barrier would, in fact, destroy your political and moral culture, by making it overtly recognize that, really, all men are NOT created equal...that browns and blacks and orientals and non-Protestants are not as desireable because their presence would CHANGE things.

This battle has been fought in American politics over and over again, and always lost.
Why?
Partly because Americans are all aware of being descended of immigrants, and so there is a moral twinge of guilt among many to "pulling up the ladder".
Partly because America is religiously divided, and immigration has always improved the numbers of Catholics. Therefore, Catholics have always been more pro-immigration.
Partly because of the Jeffersonian egalitarian values.
And partly because of a very, very powerful desire on the part of economic elites and the middle class to have a large labor pool of cheap manual labor immediately at hand.
American agriculture survives profitably on migrant labor.
Ex-urban America's greenswards about the houses are tended by Mexican laborers. American working families have Latina nannies, because they can pay them $10 an hour without benefits to take care of their children all day while they go out to earn $30 an hour with benefits.

America CANNOT, ultimately, close off immigration, because the interests of too many people, economic, political and moral, rely upon a large pool of poor immigrants.

If America cannot do it for those reasons, one cannot expect France, which has a similar moral tradition and similar economic concerns, to be able to do it either.

What distinguishes France from America on this is only the luck of America to be sitting next to a poor Western Catholic continent, while France sits north of a poor Islamist one.

Other than that, neither France nor America has any real possibility of becoming sufficiently racist and facist to be able to prevent the immigration.

The hope for France, of course, would be for the conversion of the Muslim to Christianity. But this has no hope: nobody is even attempting it.

America again is lucky: Latino immigration merely makes America a more Christian and Catholic country than it already was.

In neither case does policy have any effect.
Geography is destiny.
