FreeRepublic Pledges (Vanity)
TheHound

Posted on 04/06/2005 6:50:29 PM PDT by TheHound

Why do these pledge periods have to take so long? For a measly $66,000, I would think the pledge period would only last about a week. If everyone who used this cite for longer, in a year, than they do reading a magazine subsciption, pledged the price of a magazine subscription, I believe the pledge amount would be met in about two days. I certainly hope the day never comes when I have to see "Cialis" ads blinking on the right side of the FR page so they can pay for bandwidth!

My only point is to ask a question and get an answer. Once that happens, I'll be off this thread as fast as anyone.

Or you could be on this thread forever like a prissy Flying Dutchman. Knock yourself out. I think your funny.

Can I ask your rates on your tag line space?

I am looking to expand.

Thank you. All I can suggest is that much of this, on this thread here, would have been avoided had that been clear from the beginning. I am sure that everyone can readily understand the necessity of certain unusual or one-time expenses, it would, IMO, be better to simply lay it out on the table, rather than accidentally giving the impression that it's headed for some sort of black hole. JMO, but I think you're better off hearing it from freepers who care about the site than from Dana Milbank or R.W. Apple.

We had some extraordinary expenses above and beyond our ordinary budgeted expenses last quarter and this. Mainly to do with our two DC events, a certain legal matter, and taxes. Our cash reserves were completely depleted and we do like to maintain a cash balance for emergencies. Many thanks for your support! 558 posted on 04/09/2005 5:57:16 PM CDT by Jim Robinson

Thank you for your help Teddy! Whatever it was or if I missed it.......

Why have you still not done that? It is very simple.

Thanks for your concern, but it appears that your advice was not necessary after all.

Well then, it looks like we'll both leave happy. Thanks for your concern.

I still don't understand why you would not ask him directly.

As you can see when asked he answered right away. Where does this reluctance to ask the person who has the answers stem from?

I know you were all very concerned that I get my answer, and I'd sure like to thank you by updating the situation and letting you know that my question was answered after all. Thank you all for your help.

Okay, well, I guess we'll have to leave it at that, then.

I just suggested asking Jim about it directly. It seems logical to me to ask the person who for sure has the answers and in this case that person would seem to be Jim.

I just bump threads and post silly pictures of bunny's in stew pots. :)

f you read the frantic posts of some the lunatic fringe former Freepers over at LP, you'll know that they are on to the fact that you are ACTUALLY Jim Robinson ...

How can I be JR, when it's already well-known that I'm Marilyn Monroe? That is, when I'm not Ming the Merciless. Now then, do you want to sign up and get a password to the Swimsuit Forumtm, or don't you?

No, I really am curious. Surely you had a reason for not asking him directly.

It is a challenging job but someone has got to do it.

Now I must go hunt for more pictures of cute animals in peril.

I believe that I've explained it twice now. I'm sorry that you don't find that satisfactory for some reason, or that you don't understand it, but there you go.

This thread reminds me that I must finish "The Wit and Wisdom of Emily Litella".
