Why do these pledge periods have to take so long? For a measly $66,000, I would think the pledge period would only last about a week. If everyone who used this cite for longer, in a year, than they do reading a magazine subsciption, pledged the price of a magazine subscription, I believe the pledge amount would be met in about two days. I certainly hope the day never comes when I have to see "Cialis" ads blinking on the right side of the FR page so they can pay for bandwidth!
Peach is away from her computer for a week...she'll be back.
Names??? I'm tired of the whining about bannings. We had a few FR whiners LEAVE ON THEIR OWN, opus and all, but they were not banned unless they violated the owner's rules.
#27 Exactly.
Understand but I do know one who was banned and it was for a comment that IMHO was not enough to be banned but he was I tried to get his re-instatement to no avail.
I don't feel it is my place to reveal who it is but none the less it is true.
Please FReepmail examples because I don't believe they were banned without cause.
Yes. We are just about done for, I reckon. Farewell. '/sarcasm
Lissen, it has always been Jim's place - Jim makes the rules. Jim is fair to enforce his rules. Those who do not like Jim's rules go somewhere else. It's just that simple.
BUMP.
I'm getting tired of people complaining.
If this place ain't good enough for you, then leave, and spare me the details of your vanity.
How do you people get along in the world if you can't deal with a little dust-up on an internet forum?
Roll up your sleeves and help set this place aright if you think it needs fixing, otherwise go navel-gaze somewhere else.
NO one is disputing that? Some have just left right?
that is the reason for the thread a slow freepathon...
While I'm sorry that you were called names....please know that I've been called a Nazi and worse for wanting our borders protected.
And I'm NOT walking. To me, that's AS silly as the name calling.
And before anyone gets on their high horse...Jim and I disagree on this issue (the borders)...and I'm still here. So? Take it or leave it. FR or somewhere else. It's STILL THE BEST forum out there....
Bump to that, my friend.
My point exactly. He posted HIS DECISION to leave, not banned.
I have no intention of discontinuing my monthly contribution - but I was definitely not happy about the number of threads about the Shiavo case. I know for a fact it was suggested to Jim and the Mods to create a seperate section (like the smokey backroom or chat) just for it and the suggestion was ignored.
Pope John Paul II was a head of state, a world leader - and his illness and death got far less attention here than did the situation in Florida.
I now stick with the issues that interest me, and my few regular "chat" threads.....
Just a guess.
A good guess I'd say...
Say what? I was never banned or suspended either because I know Jim agrees with me. : )
Thanks. It's quite troubling.
Peach is on vacation. She'll be back.
Sticks and stones may break my bones,
But names will never hurt me.
So simple....yet so true.
I have been putting a little back each week to give a one time donation of $100 plus to FR. This website has been my refuge in the last year and a half, during some really tough times in my life. When I was going through my daddy's battle with cancer this time last year, and then his passing, I would post here to take my mind off of things.
However, I am dismayed with the Bush-bashing that has been on here lately, ad naseuem. I have no problems with different opinions, but I do not agree with posts not being removed when it comes to bashing our President, and moreover, Gov. Jeb Bush with the Terri case.
I know I'm somewhat of a "newbie", but that is my opinion. I enjoy so many aspects of this site (especially the Canteen), I will probably send in my donation. I just don't like the direction that things seems to be going here.
