Neither I, nor too many others I'm aware of have tried to cannonize her. Was I inspired by her? Yes. For somebody who, we were told, wanted to die, she certainly seemed to linger for quite while. I believe there was enough variance in medical opinion regarding her status to justify erring on the side of life, and I have personally witnessed enough starvation in my life to be convinced that it should not be a tool, means or end of our judicial system.

Whereas the rule of law is concerned, I agree that Jeb did the right thing, and the FL legislature screwed up. I do think it's a sad day for the rule of law when indeed a probate judge has the ultimate word over life or death regardless of what some may consider contentious medical opinions.

She may not have had a "living will" but she had a heck of a "Will to Live!" That carries a lot more weight with me than Michael's "hearsay."

the FL legislature screwed up... That is correct.
