Frankly, I'd be shocked if there are as many as a dozen believers in the Senate. "Narrow is the gate," you know.

(Just my opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary.)

According to Church law, you could probably cut that number in half, as one cannot call himself a Catholic but is part of the Catholic Church insofar as they adhere to the tenants of the faith.

Heck, I'd be happy if the Senate exhibited just a modicum of human decency and compassion. Forget the religious dictates, just be humane! It's not like we're going to see any humane behavior from the judicial branch.

Actually, I should probably clarify:
Once baptized, you are always a "catholic" but may not necessarily be in communion with the Catholic Church.

It doesn't matter much what these people call themselves.
If they are not working against the culture of death, they are not Christians of any type.

. . . they are not Christians of any type. I don't think the 11 Jewish Senators ever claimed to be. :-)

2 Eastern Orthodox (1 GOP, 1 DEM) ????????? Do we know who? Olympia Snowe (R-ME) & Paul Sarbanes (R-MD)
Sarbanes is actually of Greek descent. I don't know about Snowe.

53 Humanist/Communist(8 REP, 44 DEM, 1 IND)
To: Bluegrass Conservative
Ah, right ... I'd forgotten about Olympia. She is Greek too I think? I forget her maiden name. Oh wait it's "Snowe".
Both are poor reflections on the Orthodox faith. Of course their counterparts (Collins/Mikulski) are both CINOs.....

Given the sorry spectacle presented by the present crew of Senators, I think we'd be better off with more adherents of Reverend Leroy's "Church of What's Happening Now!"

I thought that Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Methodists, Baptists, Lutherans, etc, are all Protestants.

I think Snowe is Greek American also. Her fellow Maine senator, Collins, is Catholic I believe but of course she is 100% "pro choice."
I heard that Reid is Mormon, (hard to believe,) but I'm wondering who the other Mormon Demo senator is.

I thought that Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Methodists, Baptists, Lutherans, etc, are all Protestants. They are. But a few don't align with a particular Protestant denomination, they just call themselves "Protestant" or "Christian".
