April 6, 2005 -- FORMER National Security Adviser Sandy Berger has now joined the pantheon of those who, in the im mortal words of Webb Hubbell, have chosen to "roll over one more time" to protect Bill and Hillary Clinton.
This Hall of Ill-Fame includes Susan McDougal, Vince Foster, Monica Lewinsky, Johnnie Chung, former Arkansas Gov. Jim Guy Tucker and old Webb himself. What they each have in common is their silence and willingness to take the fall to protect the Clintons.
Berger has admitted that he stuffed top-secret documents into his pockets, shirt and pants, and why he sliced some up with scissors, destroyed them and then lied about it. Until he gives a credible explanation for this behavior, we are all entitled to make the logical inference — that he was hiding something to protect himself and his old bosses.

Berger was on a fast track to be the next Democratic Secretary of State. He risked that in stealing those documents. Now he has destroyed his future career by pleading to a criminal misdemeanor — admitting what he did while still concealing why he did it.
The Clintons' reaction when Berger was caught? The former president's comments sound just too scripted to believe: He laughed and said that it was typical of Sandy to be disorganized and forget how he handled documents. Quite a comment about the man he appointed to superintend the nation's secrets.
...Any loyal adviser would have worked to mitigate the possible damage. The measure of how serious the damage may have been is how far Berger risked falling to prevent it — and how far he did fall rather than reveal why.

That's the part I can never figure out. They all did it but I am yet to see any kind of reward for them. I would expect that some day someone will just turn on them and it will be well deserved. Amen.
IMO Susan McDougal rolled over more than once for Bubba, she knelt before him a few times too. Probably taught Bill the old Cigar trick before Monica showed up.

That is yet to be determined. Still, the history of Democratic scandals is that they are all interlinked, and it's a mistake to assume that the principal you see today is actually the one behind something.
Let us not forget John Deutsch, Clinton CIA Director, taking a laptop loaded with highly classified information home with him from work on multiple occasions.
Remember the missing laptops from the nuclear research labs.
Remember the technology leap made by the Chinese in satellite launching (or nuclear missiles).
Perhaps Sandy Berger was just looking for some information to secure foreign campaign funds for another Clinton that wants the White House.
I agree. However I have often wondered why?
I can think of several.
1. They are members of a secret society and Bill and Hill are the "jim Jones" of that society.
2. Their Arkancide vaccinations weren't up todate
3. Bill used the godfather hiring manual and everyone that work for Hill and Bill have deep dark secrets that if discovered would be worse than pleading guilty to other charges.
4. They are dumber than a box of rocks.
Yes, Freepers should think hard about what it really means that the Bush Justice Department is aiding and abetting the election of Hillary. I deal with the Bush Justice Department every day, and nothing has changed since the Clinton Administration; they are still out kicking the crap out of farmers, ranchers, and miners.
In this case he's spot on. The indications are that it was about the comments in the margins of the documents.
And when they're spinning "it was only copies of documents"-
it was Bill Clinton's copy,
it was Sandy Berger's copy,
it was Warren Christopher's copy, etc.
I think that he should not only be charged with mishandling of classified material, but he should also be charged with destruction of government property and theft.
And if you or I did this we'd be involuntarily stripped of any security clearance we had FOREVER.

Given the blood from hundreds of dead bodies on the hands of the Klintons, the opportunity to not have to commit "Arkancide" for "the cause" is going to be very much involved in some people's decisions.
