Justice for Hanoi Jane's Victims - ("Aid and Comfort" by Henry Mark Holzer & Erika Holzer)
FRONT PAGE MAGAZINE.COM ^ | MARCH 26, 2002 | RONALD RADOSH

Posted on 04/04/2005 4:55:11 PM PDT by CHARLITE

A FRIEND OF MINE, an ex-radical who became a conservative and Deputy Sheriff of a Vermont town -- has a bumper sticker on his pickup truck that reads "Hanoi Jane Not Welcome Here." I admit to always having felt uncomfortable reading it, since it seemed to me to be an unnecessary reminder of the terrible, polarized atmosphere surrounding the war in Vietnam. It was a time when ultra-conservative supporters of the war showed their anger by what I thought was an unjustified demand that she be tried for "treason," because of what she had said in her trip to North Vietnam in the 1970s. After all, Americans had a constitutional right to oppose what some thought was a wrong and immoral war, and it might have been poor tact to make those points in the country our troops were fighting, but it was no different than if she had made those arguments here.

Now, decades after Jane Fonda’s trip, Henry Mark Holzer and Erika Holzer, both of them writers as well as lawyers, have published a book that seeks to make the case that in fact, Jane Fonda engaged in acts that make her guilty of the actual legal grounds for treason, which as laid out in the Constitution, defines the act as "levying War against them, or, in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." To be found guilty, a person had to have two witnesses to the overt act they committed, or have made a full confession in an open court.

Thank you for the heads up on the show. I've been wondering whether or not to read the book. I'm afraid it will open old wounds. And I already know what I think of Hanoi Jane. But watching the show may help me decide to read it.

She's sorry that the internet exists to circulate those pictures.

Do you think she'd apologize, or that the NYT would ever print them otherwise?

this writer tries to reduce everything she did to "what she said in N VN.........bullshit!

She was as vile and treacherous toward GI's wherever she went.....along with many associates, and turncoat GI's, too.

This communist bitch is NOT Joan Baez, who went over there and only sang peace songs......

Maybe this same duo will investigate Kerry. Both have American blood on their hands.

I feel sorry for Jane Fonda. Her mother committed suicide when Jane was 12 and she had an unloving father who was very distant. I can't imagine where a child is supposed to learn values in a situation like that.

Let her repent on the gibbet.

I actually met her once, I was not impressed.

"Is there a statute of limitation for treason?"

No, there is not!

a) A person charged with absence without leave or missing movement in time of war,
or with any offense punishable by death,
may be tried at any time without limitation.

Uphold the US Constituion!

Too bad the "Move On" FReepers just don't understand
the real threat that the likes of Hanoi Kerry pose to our country.

I just don't understand their reasoning in saying
"drop it", "your wasting your time", "give it up" etc.

Some even howl when I remind them the job is NOT done.

So why do they think I'll stop now?

Demand Kerry be ousted from the US Senate!

There is no need to impeach Hanoi Kerry from the US Senate

He is there illegally!

WAKEUP AMERICA!

For those who "forgot" what Hanoi Kerry
did in the past read on and learn the truth.

Hanoi Kerry was still a USNR officer while he:
gave false hearsay testimony to Congress
negotiated with the enemy
helped the US lose a war
abetted in the deaths of millions
created a hostile environment for all servicemen

Why is Kerry still in the US Senate?
This is in violation of
U.S. Constitution Amendment 14 Sec 3

And the FBI has proof of his treason.

We must have read the article about the same time.

Hanoi Jane, just like Hanoi Kerry, committed acts of treason against this Nation.

Never forgive....Never forget.

Jeez, My mother fostered me and my sister out at 6 and 4 years old and I never saw my father after my 4th birthday. So I guess my story is at least as sad as this privileged socialite.

PS: I volunteered to fight for my country. She betrayed it!

I feel sorry for Jane Fonda.

Truthfully, I would find it difficult to 'feel sorry' for her if she burst into flames.

This is one of the few people in the world that I really despise --- not because she was "opposed to war", which she wasn't in the least. She thought war, any war, was just fine, as long as the Communist side won. She pretended to care about US troops, but the fact is she didn't give a damn about them. She loved the Vietnam War, because she was on the winning side.

She championed the aggressors in Vietnam. She championed the tyrants. And 30 years later, after 5 million people in Southeast Asia have been murdered by these thugs, (and the list grows as Hanoi continues to practice genocide against the Montainyards) and tens of millions more have had been sentenced to lives as slaves under Marxist totaliarism, she still refuses to even consider that she was wrong, that her Hollywood 'radical chic' was only a catalyst for mass murder. She remains proud of her actions, only pausing occasionally as 'business demands' to feign apologizies for some of the most outlandish stunts, but never for the end result. She remians completly oblivious to the suffering she has caused and she remains committed to the ideology that inflected that suffering.

Yes, I'm pissed about what she did to American GIs. But that was just the tip of the iceberg for the untold suffering this woman helped bring down on innocent people.

She may get through this life with her fame and fortune and unlimited sanctimonious ego unaltered by her sins. She'll join a nearly unlimited list of history's scoundrels in that dubious distinction. But she surely won't get through the next life intact.

To hell with Jane Fonda. I'll never have pity on her.

If I had to choose which firing squad I wanted to be on, between Hanoi Jane's and Hanoi John's, I would have to rely on my schizophrenia and claim a right to be on both. It would be cruel and unusual punishment to make me choose.
