They are in coverup mode. I'm with Rep. Delay. He is putting his career on the line.

Yes he is. And his constituents don't like his continued foray against judges one bit, according to the latest polls in Sugarland.

Cheney's right. The problem is not the judges in the Schiavo case; it's the Florida law.

Polls, schmolls. Tom Delay isn't about polls, he's about doing what needs to be done. To quote President Bush on another subject, you're either with us or against us. And I hate to say it, but it looks like the White House is against us on this.

"The problem is not the judges in the Schiavo case; it's the Florida law."

The law said there has to be a written advance directive. Judge Greer change the law to allow hearsay evidence from the husband-in-name-only and discounted the hearsay evidence from Terri's friend.

You are right it is the Florida law AND the lawmakers.

How come the legislature turned over lawmaking on end-of-life issues to an end-of-life panel (not elected of course)?

They ought to be turned out. Is it legal to give a panel the right to make law as they wish without vote?

And, it is a judge that totally shut-down any defense for Terri. Greer is not innocent. He was guardian AND judge at a point over Terri. He refused every effort by her parents. He also refused to offer Terri food and water by mouth which would be the normal procedure before condemning one. This is murder.

I don't care who does it - the state, the federal government, a judge - it is murder. If it is the legislature enacting such laws - it is still murder and a denial of the constitutional rights of Terri.

A travesty and it must be changed.

I will agree with half your statement. It is the Florida laws, but it is also the judges, as well as the judges around this country. If people don't wake up and see what's in front of them, it'll be too late.

There has been too many people saying it's the law, when the problem is judges making their own law to suit them and their friends. There was a post earlier and dang it, I can't remember right now, but the judge ruled against what 62% of what the people voted for and says it was unconstitutional yet there was nothing in the constitution making it unconstitutional.

If any knows what post it was please remind me. I have CRS.

Cheney couldn't be MORE wrong. And neither could you.
