You have now expressed your opinion. Thank you so much for using a thread about something that has nothing to do with immigration to let us know how you feel.

Clinton going? Why do these people continue to spoil things. What a disgrace for he and the -itch to go. They continue to take advantage of things that they have been totally against. What dispicable creatures.

Clinton will do anything to get air time. He lives to be known. I think there is little that he would not do to get press.
I'm sure he is thinking that the world needs him there.

I hope that Mrs. Reagan is part of the delegation.... would speak volumes to the East Europeans.... and to her husband's legacy, as well.

That being said, Bush, why don't you lead a delegation of Border Patrol Agents to our Border states and protect this country? Totally uncalled for. This is a thread about the President honoring the Pope, a magnificent man who helped bring freedom to millions and who had a wonderful, forgiving, penitent heart (and I'm not Roman Catholic). Surely you can find one of the hundreds of existing threads blasting our President over his immigration policies, can't you?
To: hushpad
I was not complaining about your immigration issue comments. It was just when you blasted the attention that the Pope was getting that I responded to you. This week is an historical time as a religious and political leader has passed. The succession and transition of a world power is at hand. If you are not interested in that - fine. Just don't blast those observing history unveil.

I have watched the Spanish channels coverage of the Pope's passing, and they are a hundred times more reverant to the Pope than our English networks have been.

(It's sad that the news media treats Michael Jackson better than our military.)

"It is funny watching the liberals praise the man, but brush off his deepest beliefs as quaint...."
They praise the man for his actions; yet they have no understanding as to why he acted in such a manner. Such ignorance and naivety.
His deepest beliefs led his actions...the sign of a true leader.....IMHO

So you get all the high religios leaders in place. Many of the western leaders will be in one place.
I am thinking being near Rome might be a bad idea on Friday.
Just in case Al Qaeda (sp?) actually has a suitcase nuke.
To: PigRigger
yet they have no understanding as to why he acted in such a mannerIt is too frightening to face the reason he acted as he did.
He maintained the Truth is Truth as it has always been. There is right, there is wrong. Evil exists. Faith must guide your daily actions. Technology may change, but God doesn't.
This is not high in the polling data, and beyond the grasp of many.

I have watched the Spanish channels coverage of the Pope's passing, and they are a hundred times more reverant to the Pope than our English networks have been. I'm not the least bit surprised.
The MSM commentators and people who disagree with his positions are totally missing the point. This is a man who forgave the man who shot him; frightened Communists; travelled the world to spread his message; apologized for the evils the Catholic Church had done to Jews; reached out to holy people of all beliefs; and, above all, served God. I honestly believe in his heart he was a Servant of God first and a Roman Catholic second. If more people who call themselves holy were quicker to apologize and forgive, the world would be a much better place. No, he wasn't perfect; no, I don't agree with many of his views. That doesn't change the fact that this was a Great Man.

They are moving the Pope's body to the Basilica of St. Peter. CNN is covering with no voice-over. Beautiful chanting.
They will proceed out into St. Peter's square and back into the Basilica.

I recall when Clinton President he had an audience with the Pope and the Pope said Clinton didn't act interested in what was being said - looking around-listless-something like that. Does anyone else remember this?
