Theresa Marie Schindler... May Daily Thread 2005 CALL TO ACTION: Our Fight for Justice Continues
Various Sources ^ | April 3, 2005 | floriduh voter

Freeper friends, Terri's Memorial Service is this coming Tuesday night in Gulfport, Florida. Please check and see if www.baynews9.com will carry it on the internet.

I'm still sad and in disbelief that the rescue fell apart. It was on it's way. We were waiting there for ambulances but instead two Sheriff's cruisers arrived.

There's much work to do. There are many work groups here carrying on for Terri.

The April Daily Thread as before will be a meeting place, a news digest and even in the midst of sorrow, a place to make friends.

I want to thank everyone who did everything humanly possible for Terri and her family. Terri's safe now from a room with the blinds closed, strange people and armed guards. She'd still be here if it wasn't for judicial despots who it appears have never read the Declaration of Independence or the U.S. or Florida Constitution.

Freepers, Republicans and Democrats alike voted against Terri or didn't do enough to save her from Judge Greer.

I'd like to thank Ralph Nader, David Boies, Joe Lieberman and Wesley Smith, Phd, author of Forced Exit.

I have disdain for the Naughty Nine Republicans in the Florida Senate who vote "No" which barred Terri from legislative relief. The GOP House Members who voted "No" on Terri, shame on them too.

WHAT EXACTLY IS THE AGENDA AND WHO IS IN CHARGE? I'm afraid that Judge George Greer is in charge - of everything.

PLEASE HELP FLORIDA... CALL YOUR SENATORS AND CONGRESSMEN/WOMEN.

HELP US. We feel stranded by tyranny today, but Florida is ripe for change. We will demand it together as Americans.

Thanks, FV

House GOP doesn't plan probe of judges

House GOP doesn't plan probe of judges

WASHINGTON - House Republicans say they haven't opened and don't plan any new investigations of federal judges after Terri Schiavo's death despite Majority Leader Tom DeLay's promise to examine the judiciary's conduct.

Some of the issues raised by DeLay were being examined by Judiciary Committee Chairman James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., before the embattled Texas Republican's recent barrage against federal judges over their handling of Schiavo's case.

The panel held a hearing last year on the issue of federal judges citing foreign law in their decisions. That came after legislation to prohibit the practice was filed. The bill never came to a vote but has been reintroduced this year.

DeLay, now involved in an ethics controversy over the source of funding for some of his foreign travels, escalated his attacks on the judiciary after Schiavo's death March 31.

He suggested that the House look at impeaching some judges and complained that many of them, appointed by Republican as well as Democratic presidents, are "judicial activists."

Last week he labeled as "outrageous" Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy's references to no other countries executing people for murders they committed before reaching age 18 in writing the court's 5-4 decision in March declaring capital punishment for juvenile offenders unconstitutional.

Sensenbrenner also has been looking for a long time at the idea of increasing Congress' oversight of judicial discipline. He told a judicial conference last year that Congress "will begin assessing whether the disciplinary authority delegated to the judiciary has been responsibly exercised and ought to continue."

In response, Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist established a panel chaired by Justice Stephen Breyer to investigate the court's handling of judicial misconduct. Breyer's panel has yet to release its report, said Jeff Lungren, a spokesman for Sensenbrenner.

However, neither Rehnquist nor any other Supreme Court justice has reacted publicly to DeLay's barbs since Schiavo's death, which occurred 10 days after Congress passed and President Bush signed a bill seeking federal court intervention to prolong the severely brain-damaged woman's life.

"The time will come for the men responsible for this to answer for their behavior," DeLay said then, promising that the GOP-controlled House "will look at an arrogant and out of control judiciary that thumbs its nose at Congress and the president."

A few days later, Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, questioned in a Senate speech whether frustration over perceived political decisions by judges "builds up and builds up to the point where some people engage in violence."

Both Cornyn and DeLay said later that some of their language had been too harsh after other Republicans, including Bush and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, rushed to distance themselves from the sentiments expressed by the two lawmakers.

A majority of Republicans think that unless it can be proven that judges did something illegal, they should be left alone, said GOP Rep. Bob Inglis of South Carolina, who also sits on the Judiciary Committee.

"I think we should be very, very careful about exercising legislative oversight of case-specific decisions in federal court, unless it rises to the level of judicial misconduct, in which case it's certainly appropriate to remove judges," Inglis said. "But I don't think that happened in this case."

Texas GOP Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas, a DeLay ally who leads the Judiciary subcommittee that handles court oversight, has not scheduled any new investigations or hearings, said a spokesman.

DeLay's remarks, meanwhile, have been cited by Senate Democrats in defending their use of filibusters to block some of Bush's most conservative appeals court nominees. Frist has threatened to change the Senate rules so that filibusters - requiring 60 votes in the 100-member to overcome - cannot be used against judicial nominees.

Frist, Sensenbrenner and others, however, have found themselves repeatedly saying they believe the judiciary should be independent.

"When we think judicial decisions are outside mainstream American values, we will say so. But we must also be clear that the balance of power among all three branches requires respect - not retaliation," Frist said Sunday.

Michael Savage on the radio is bashing Pinellas County again. The police handcuffing a 5 year old, the killing of Terri, etc. I don't think Savage is going to get over what happened to Terri. Hannity has gotten over it imo because he is ga ga over Pres. Bush.

Savage is more independent than that.

There is proof that Whittemore broke the law but you have to start an investigation to gather evidence. I guess the GOP is going to lose a large chunk of their base then when the truth starts to ooze on out.

I'll be posting the National and the Florida GOP phone numbers and everyone should call their state GOP headquarters to tell them that they are going to ruin the republican party if they let corrupt judges keep their jobs who should be in prison.

So glad to hear that someone hasn't forgotten, I sure haven't! I'm still sending my daily e-mails to Jeb to let him know we will not forget and to impeach Greer. Someday I hope to do so much more. I would like for all the murderers to know that there is someone watching their every move and that they will never get away with this.

When I look at her picture and see how beautiful she was, I just want to cry.
It gives me great joy to know that the Schindlers received so many cards. In death she was victorious. Wonder how many people will care when HINO leaves this earth?

Schiavo Death Order Void Due To Greer’s Lack of Jurisdiction

If Greer lacked jurisdiction as he sentenced Terri Schiavo to death, then many others are complicit in her death because of their dereliction of duty. Start with the Fla Secretary of State and Fla Attorney General. They were responsible for verifying that Greer was in office legally and that what he was doing was legal. IMHO, they are as guilty as Greer, because of their inactions, as Greer was because of his actions....

To the last I hoped that someone in authority to step in and stop Terri's murder. I am horrified that a rogue Judge Greer is allowed to do get away with his sadistic whims and snubbing his nose at laws. And Jeb Bush made some nice words, but overall showed no interest in saving Terri. She will always be his Mary Jo.

Please ping your lists, etc. Spread the word. Can anyone make a new thread?

Rally for Impeachment of Judge Greer

Monday, May 2nd at the capitols on Washington, DC and Tallahassee. Starting at 9:00am going all day!

SHOW the Bushes, etc. that we ARE NOT GOING AWAY!!

Greer is an illegal judge. Why do the Bushes tell others not to investigate?

Schiavo Death Order Void Due To Greer’s Lack of Jurisdiction
http://www.northcountrygazette.org/

FL House Speaker Allen Bense:

“Governor Bush began to champion Terri’s cause very early on, and he used every appropriate power at his disposal to try and save her. He deserves the appreciation of those on both sides of this debate for how he has respected both the sanctity of life as well as Florida’s Constitution throughout this situation.

“This issue will now slowly fade from the front pages of our newspapers and the news tickers at the bottoms of our TV screens. However, I hope the concerns it raises at the forefront of our public consciousness so that more people will see the need for clearly expressing their desires on end-of-life issues”.

I have yet to see a picture of Jodi. I wonder if she has been involved in other things and they fear someone might recognize her.

Thanks for the link. Jodi looks like she might have on a wig. An ordinary face that could easily blend in.

I didn't see you mention wigs. You pinged me about no pictures of her and I mentioned wigs. Now that I'm on the thread, I see that wigs were discussed prior.

Freepers make reliable sources and the GOP is going to have to do internal reforms because they've lost a chunk of their base. They pretend to be for "life" and the dems are against it but at least we know that. dems and gop at this moment in time are the same.

The corruption in Pinellas County and Florida is like a cancer. For starters, Judge George Greer has to be removed.

Clinton removed Elian and he had his Waco. President Bush defied the UN and attacked Iraq and still occupies that country. The police eagerly handcuffed a well-behaved little boy (and other children) who dared to wish to give water to Terry. Yet neither Jeb Bush nor anyone else in our government bothered to save Terri who was denied due process.

The excuse of the anti-Terri factions were offensive nonsense: "Nothing can be done," "It's her husband's will," "She has committed no crime so she cannot be pardoned or saved from a horrible death," "The courts [Judge George Greer and his enablers] have ruled."
