Why am I not surprised to find that alcohol was involved?

As far as I know, the snake was never found. Most Arizonans will tell you that rattlers come in many sizes. There is a need in the underground for "custom made" buckets. They are made in a tin shop with tight fittings to keep the cockroaches out. Many are the new muckers or chute tappers who have opened their new black lunch bucket only to have cucharachas swarm out after feasting on the burro the mucker intended to have for lunch. :o)

I know it gets lonely in Wyoming. I've been there; but how drunk does one have to be to put the moves on a rattlesnake?Problem is, the only snakes that come out at night in the high desert have a different type of tail. You know "we'll get a little tail tonight"?

Rattlesnake Bob was in luck that day. Looks to me like if the snake had decided to eject venom, that was awfully close to Bob's brain and heart.

Something to ponder while having that first cup of coffe.Something to ponder while pondering whether I should indulge my six-year-old daughter's new desire for a pet boa.
I wanted her to grow up appreciating snakes and not fearing them. So I've been talking to her about snakes for weeks. I know a fair amount about them becuase they have fascinated me since I was a kid. I've owned all different kinds during my life, although 20 years ago I gave away my last pet boa because I suddenly lost the heart for feeding them mice.
I took my daughter to a pet store yesterday and encouraged her to hold one of the baby boas, because I wanted her to have the experience. She was hesitant at first, but within 20 minutes was handling it like she was Steve Irwin or something. She was beaming, and smiling ear to ear, and showing it to everybody who would look. "I love this," she said.
Now she is bugging us to get a pet snake. Not sure if I want to go there again, but I figure, what the hell, at least I'll be less traumatized than my poor mom was when I started keeping snakes as a kid.

WE lived in Sweetwater Texas for the first 14 years we were married - they have the World's Largest Rattlesnake Roundup each year (2nd weekend in March! lol) - the year I was dating my Marine I drove out to see that Roundup and witnessed the love of my life in a huge vat surrounded by about 1500 snakes all slithering and wet from venon (they do bite each other) - he was actually in there keeping them stirred up so they wouldn't all pile up and suffocate the ones on the bottom - I remember driving back to my hometown and everywhere I looked I "saw" snakes.....lol
Snakes smell AWFUL when you get a bunch of them together - !
