Great reply. The students were under severe duress - several times they said 'you said you wouldn't ask political questions,' to Woodruff who had apparently assured them a nonpolitical analysis of Iran. It was 30 minutes of deceptive lies by ABC Nightline and Woodruff who had previously assured the students [fearful of possible death sentences from Iranian dictatorship] that they wouldn't talk about politics on a POLITICAL segment.

Counting on the MSM to report accurately on anything is not a reasonable expectation.
Well, perhaps sports. But not something complicated like Iran.

Many said the broadcast appeared to be shameful propaganda for the Iranian regime.
I saw it, and there was (IMO) no "Appears" about it. It was propaganda. I can't believe they didn't know they were being used.

Intelligent citizens/voters do not trust the liberal news media ...or anything that comes out of Hollywood.

I agree with your reaction. I was not only disapointed with Woodruff, but also, with the analysis by the Iranian-American correspondent for Time magazine who gave a ridiculous analysis of what our differences were with the Iranian regime. She said the US was hung up over the 1979 hostage crisis and the Iranians were upset over the US role in the Palestinian crisis. Beside making a phony moral equivalency argument, she failed to mention that Iran is the world's biggest state supporter of terrorism.
Iran couldn't have written a better propaganda presentation than what Nightline did. Pure garbage.
