7:30 a.m. Holy Mass was celebrated in presence of the Pope. His Holiness' condition has remained basically the same, some loss of consciousness. Not in a coma, but fades in and out of alertness.
Spokesperson related Pope's words for the young people. "I have looked for you, now you have come to me. Now I thank you."
Other close members of the Pope's immediate staff come and go into the Pope's room. Per Mr. Navaro (sp?)Next announcement at approx. 5:30 p.m., unless there is something otherwise to communicate.
The Amber Alert web site is covering the Pope?
Aren't the words the Pope left for the young people beautiful. He loved children so much, and remembered them in his last moments.
Be honest, you didn't check the Breaking News Sidebar before posting, did you?
What? Hehehe No I didn't. I had just checked earlier. Was this posted somewhere? I think what might have happened when I was inserting "source" and started typing in FOX - a previous entry dropped down, and I selected the wrong one. It must have been one related to the Jessica Lundsford story that was still in the memory. That is the only thing I can figure out. Hey, I just woke up. Haven't even had coffee yet, LOL
If this is true and the press office isn't fudging, he's sitting up in bed and sending a thank you message to young people? Wow...I make sleep deprived and loopy...BUT those IV antibiotics and fluids may be finally kicking in! He might actually pull out of this and spoil the network's weekend "death watch". It seems God and aggressive medicine are following their own schedules.
The words the Pope said are being discussed, with additional mention that he "seemed" to have said them to the children. He "seemed" to be thinking of them as he was always concerned about them. The Vatican staff had worked to reconstruct the sentance he uttered in the early morning hours.
I was just thinking about the Pope's words. Maybe he was saying them to God? It would be nice to know he left them for the young people. He had a special affinity for them, and they responded. He made them believe they could change the world, and taught them faith and hope. But...the other possibility, at this time, is also something to consider.
It is early and I realize there have been uncivil threads lately, but I certainly didn't intend my comment as "not nice". It really is quite possible he could pull through this episode. My thoughts were directed towards the media that has been jumping the gun lately (you'll recall the Fox news announcement this morning).
We would be wise to consider what John Paul II has represented to us, no matter what church we attend, or do not attend.
He is an example for all of us to follow, even if we falter. I am praying for him, and that God takes him up according to His plan, and not that of the news media.
We would all be wise to pay attention to Jesus, who taught us to pray that His will be done, on eath as in heaven.
And, while praying that, please think of our trespasses. We certainly have many that need to be forgiven. Can we forgive those who trespass against us?
Oh, I am sorry. Forgive me. I thought you - well you know what I figured. Yeah, it is early. I hope we all have a peaceful day. Good morning!
