PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - Medical examiners concluded an autopsy on Terri Schiavo on Friday, and prepared to release her remains to family members who continued to fight bitterly over the case of the brain-damaged woman who became the flashpoint for a nationwide debate over right-to-die issues.
"The examination included routine forensic autopsy procedures, supplemented by full post mortem X-rays," the Pinellas County, Fla., medical examiner's office said in a statement. "Terri Schiavo's remains are ready for release to the establishment selected by the legally authorized person, for purposes of final disposition. "

Somewhere there is a phrase people have lost sight of - "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness."
At one time those were thought to be pretty basic rights.
But as we have learned, judicial fiat may deprive a person of life, readily enough, with what appears to be a capricious application of opinion in place of orderly deduction from established legal principles.
And when the right to life has been so quickly extinguished, can the right to liberty be soon to follow the same route?
And with no certainty of relief from malicious mischief that may be practiced upon anybody at any time, what right to the pursuit of happiness remains?
Did this pathologist NOT investigate EVERY SINGLE aspect of the old bone breakage reported on that scan that judge greer ruled as IRRELEVANT to Terri's wellbeing?
But isn't it amazing that when you are going to cremate someone in Florida an autopsy is required but the Felo's spun it as something Schaivo wanted to do...makes me sick!!!
Great Nic, I know what President you got that line from :)
All his posts are offensive as far as I am concerned.
Well he really exists...it is Dr. Henry Lee in Connecticut. Quincy show was loosly based on Dr. Henry Lee
This whole ordeal makes me sick. Literally too tears at times.
Quincy was a great show, CSI can't hold a candle to it.
Kennedy men never expect to answer for their behavior.
Where's Quincy?
What's the matter with the autopsy? The parents wanted the autopsy?
I think it is also very useful to look at her brain to see what damage was actually there.
I'm really glad they got to do the autopsy. It should provide very useful information.
Very sad indeed...an outrage...
Offensive to whom?
As soon as I heard Wecht and any other outside observer was not let in, I knew something was up.
This case reeks badly from start to finish.
I don't trust this "medical examiner" to put out
a truthful report because of his connection to greer.
If they are ready to release the body, then that means
no issue of Terri possibly being abused will ever come out. If the medical examiner was on the up and up, he would hold the body for evidence.
Last time I looked...in the north east corner of Massachusetts near Boston.
McCain is an albatros around the neck of the Republican party.
From your screen name can I assume you won't vote for a murderer the next time they are running for re-election.
I see some chipping away at this part all the time - Most of it under the rubric of making us more secure.
