Michael Will Hide Where Terri Schiavo is Buried From Family

Pinellas Park, FL (LifeNews.com) -- Michael Schiavo plans to keep the location of where he will bury Terri Schiavo's ashes a secret and will prevent Terri's family from knowing. His brother told the media on Thursday that Terri's family would show up and cause a spectacle if they found out.

"If Mike knew they would come in peace, he would have no problem with it," Scott Schiavo, Michael Schiavo's brother, told AP.

A complete autopsy will be performed on Terri's body by the local county medical examiner's office. Once that is completed, Michael plans to have Terri's body cremated and her ashes buried in Pennsylvania.

Scott told the Associated Press the ashes will be buried in a burial plot left to Michael by an aunt and uncle.

"We've already said goodbye," Bobby Schindler said when asked about not knowing where his sister would be buried.

Concerning Michael's latest decision snubbing his family, Bobby said, "He's been doing this kind of stuff for 15 years. What would make him stop now?"

Terri's parents fought for years to stop the cremate, citing Terri's Catholic religious beliefs, and asked Judge George Greer to allow Terri to be buried in Florida, closer to her family. Greer declined both requests.

Terri's parents and her family did not discuss the burial issue during their remarks to the media following Terri's death. However, Paul O'Donnell, a Franciscan monk who has been helping the family during the last two weeks, said they would hold a Catholic mass for Terri even though they will not have her body present.

The mass will take place sometime next week.

A spokesman for the Pinellas County medical examiner's office said Terri's body would be given to Michael on Friday for the cremation process to begin.

The autopsy on Terri's body may yield a preliminary look in two to three days but the office will not have final results for two to three weeks.

People who relish in trampling on Terri's life, and in rubbing our noses in their ability to get away with it unpunished, should reflect carefully on what they do and how many people are resentful and offended.

Accurate and well-stated.

I saw on FR that Greer actually referred Michael to Felos. Do you know if this is true?

I hadn't heard that, and don't know if it's true.

But I do know it's been documented on FR that there have been some unholy alliances between Felos, the "Hospice," Greer, and a Pinellas County sheriff.

Yes, I've seen threads about that (and about the elusive Scientology connection).

Terri was abused---

women with physical disabilities are sometimes abused by withholding needed

  1. orthotic equipment (wheelchairs, braces),
  2. medications,
  3. transportation, or
  4. essential assistance with personal tasks,

There are plenty of us with 'something resembling a mind', unfortunatly you do not appear to fall into that category when you pronounce sainthood upon Michael Schiavo. So why don't you crawl back to DU and stay under your rock where you belong.

I have seen some nasty acrimony in families where the inlaws hated the surviving husband/wife. There were fights over creamation vs burial. But never was there a secret location. (unless spreading the ashes as sea is a secret.)

I think this is more the Culture of Death not wanting a shrine or an ongoing focal point.

The "hospice" should be razed and converted to a park with Terri's shrine.

You are apparently VERY unfamiliar with Roman Catholic religious customs. That someone would CREMATE a body without a living will giving such specific instructions and OVER the wishes of the family, that's just outrageous and absurd.

I understand that it isn't traditional for RC's, and I understand that this situation is not normal. But the law is clear... The right and responsibility for burial of remains is with the husband, and not any other "family". It's a shame that there is so much hatred that they can't get along, but I hardly think anyone should be surprised that they don't agree now on what to do.

Only know this, that cremation itself is ~not~ prima facie evidence of guilt. It is a very normal option for many Christian people, and your post "No NORMAL man treats his wife's body this way if she dies of natural causes." suggested we were also trying to hide something when we had my mother's remains cremated. I also intend that my remains will also be cremated and either scattered or interred, as that option seems far more dignified to me than embalming me and dressing my body up in a gown.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Michael in his time of grief and to all of Terri’s loved ones. I have nothing but respect and admiration for the job Michael Schiavo did in keeping with his wife’s wishes. I know it was a gut wrenching job and there is no doubt in my mind, that many times he thought of walking away, but Terri put her trust in her husband and he honored that trust. What more can a spouse ask for.

Faithfulness.

Micahel makes it very difficult to try and have Christian thoughts when he continues to be such a major A--Hole! After listening to the Schindlers yesterday and how dignified they were and then his loudmouth Michael and his obnoxious brother behave like animals I do truly believe she suffered at the hands of Michael. I am amazed his livein has children with him and stays with him. What a rotten role model he is for his kids.

The only person who has triggered a spectacle in this whole thing is Michael Schiavo, who has insisted all along that Terri wanted to torture her mother and father. Of course he had a lot of help from the "boobs in black."

Who Will Remember Terri?
By JAMES TARANTO

"Joe Ford, a Harvard undergraduate with severe cerebral palsy: "Like many others with disabilities, I believe that the American public, to one degree or another, holds that disabled people are better off dead. To put it in a simpler way, many Americans are bigots. A close examination of the facts of the Schiavo case reveals not a case of difficult decisions but a basic test of this country's decency."

He'd have to PAY to have them buried, and he wouldn't want to eat into his insurance money. He'll dump her in the river...in true murderer form.
