PAC to Defeat Elected Officials Who Hurt Terry Schiavo
March 31, 2005 | Allan J. Favish

Posted on 03/31/2005 9:18:17 AM PST by AJFavish

Is anybody planning to create a political action committee that will try to defeat the elected officials who made the bad decisions that helped kill Terry Schiavo?

I don't know if Judge Greer in Florida ever has to face the electorate, but he would be number one on the list. Also, what about the Florida Legislators who voted against the bills that would have saved her?

Also, what about the Congressional members who fought against the federal law that the courts incorrectly interpreted?

Are there any radio talkshow hosts who have stated that they would provide publicity for such a PAC?

Regards,

It's the unelected officials that were the problem. Congress passed a law and the judicial Kings chose to ignore it. The problem is a judicial dictatorship.

According to the constitution, those federal courts are established and serve at the whim of Congress. Congress should eliminate a handful of federal appealant courts just to get their attention.

Couldn't this have waited a day, at least? Terri's only been dead a few hours.

Grim Reaper Greer: Go ahead with your silly autopsy. I'll decide what is in the final report anyway.

do you know every single Candidate's face and stance you vote for?

No I don't as much as I try to find out everything I can, attend when they speak at an event, etc.....words can ring hollow once elected. They can pretend to be someone they aren't while running for office and become who they really are once there.

What REALLY needs to happen, besides getting rid of Greer, is to re-revise that Statute 765 - why THAT was NEVER repealed is beyond me. Did you guys ever see the history of that???

What should people do to make their opinion known?

I live in Florida, and I believe that boycotting Clearwater/St. Pete would be worthwhile. Just don't go there or spend money there. All you snowbirds and conventioners - go somewhere else. YOu sure don't want to get sick there. If the tourist money dries up, then maybe the death-warriors can be defeated. And for all you folks who voted for Judge Greer, you can throw him out, too. After all, you could be next....

>>Greer is an elected judge, but I think Whittemore was appointed by Clintoon.<<

Greer is an elected judge? Where do I sign up for this PAC?

I don't think the Constitution would allow Congress to simply get rid of judges.

On the other hand, they might decide that a 50-foot stretch of federal highway in middle-of-nowhere Alaska needs a special traffic court. They could even staff the court with the country's highest-paid traffic-court judges.

Greer was elected from information I got several days ago. There is a petition that got started here calling for impeachment and an article in some paper I think about the petition. You might search for that posting....I will too

All the other posts here want to get rid of activist judges, but everyone here wanted these judges to BE ACTIVISTS and go against the law as written in Florida relative to guardianship.

So what is it - you only want activist judges when they suit your particular purpose or do you want judges who live by the letter of the law and impose those laws?

The law in Florida is quite clearly written. The husband is the guardian when the wife is incapacitated. Mr. Shiavo was the guardian and the judges refused to be activists and re-write the Florida law.

Flame me if you want, but you can't have it both ways folks.

As long as the proposed PAC doesn't attack President Bush, Governor Bush, or any federal or state legislator who voted to give the Schindlers access to the de novo review, count me in for financial contributions if you get this off the ground.

I think the constitution does allow congress to establish and shut down federal courts.

Judge Greer was just reelected by the voters of Pinellas County in the last electio. He had a lot of powerful supporters, and people who live there say the Schiavo case was never even brought up while he was up for election. I believe he's retiring after this term, however, so there won't be a chance not to elect him again.

I favor impeachment for him. (Maybe followed by a visit to Starke?)

Congress controls the purse strings (even some judge hasn't stripped that power away from them yet)

I would LOVE to see congress simple "forget" to fund a substantial amount of the federal judiciary for a year or so and listen to the black robe tyrants screaming and wailing as their perks, travel junket, security staff, etc. are eliminated.
