Parents Lawyer Thwarted Plans to Send (2,000) Milita to Aid Terri Schiavo
The Petoskey (MI) News Review ^ | 3.30.05 | Fred Gray

Posted on 03/30/2005 4:17:55 PM PST by gopwinsin04

Norm Olsen, pastor of a right to life church in Wolverine, Michigan and senior adivser to the Michigan Militia, said Tuesday that he had put together an unarmed coalition of state militias that were prepared to storm the Florida hospice where Terri Schiavo has been left to die, and take her to a safe house.

Olsen said he only needed the OK from Schiavo's father, either directly or indirectly through his attorney David Gibbs, to put the plan, called 'Operation Resurrection,' into action on Easter Sunday.

But Olsen said Gibbs called the FBI (to report the plans) instead of passing his plans on to Schindler.

Olsen said the FBI had been monitoring e-mails within the milita groups on Tuesday March 29 and sent agents to milita leaders in the South to question them about the plan.

The FBI was unavailable for comment.

Olsen said that he phoned Gibb's secretary with a message that he had organzied 1,500 to 2,000 milita members from Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia and Michigan, who were ready to remove Schiavo from the hospice and put her in a convoy to a safe house.

Thank goodness Gibbs had some common sense. The guy's heart has certainly been in the right place. He did all that he could with the little he had to work with.

If True (and that is a big IF) then Gibbs was obligated to perhaps hurry the death of his client's daughter by calling the FBI, I suppose

Shame they made the mistake of calling Gibbs. Reminds me of Governor Bush contacting the judge about his plans (or telegraphing them in a press conference).

It pains me to say what I am about to say, but it appears that all is lost for Terri.

Those whom we counted on to come to Terri's rescue, didn't. Not the state legislature, not the governor, not the President, not the Congress, not the FLNG, the FDLE, the FHP, the US Marshalls . . . NO ONE.

They sat on their hands. We knew we couldn't count on the judicial branch, but with Republican majorities in every major office possible, we believed that they would take action to save her life.

Instead, they sat on their hands. They sat on their hands for vote after vote. They sat on their hands when it came time to speak what they truly believe; what they campaigned on. The state legislature took a vote last Wednesday to adjourn for Easter. No one sat on their hands for that vote. But, when it came time to save the life of an innocent, disabled woman whose only crime was that she required a feeding tube since her husband refused to get her the rehab she needed to be able to feed herself, they sat on their hands.

Beginning next year, they will solicit us for money and votes for their re-election campaigns. I suggest you give them the same that they gave to Terri - sit on your hands. DON'T re-elect any of them.

Yes, I know what I am saying - we could lose the state house and hand it back to the Dems. Given that Republicans are the ones who could have saved Terri and refused, can we truly say that there is a difference?

Our system of government is terribly broken and I'm not sure that it is repairable.

My heart is heavy for Terri, the Schindler's and for America. I pray that God will grant the Schindler's peace.

America has become a country that, today, scares me.

And that is very, very sad.

I would laugh if it were not so sad. I wonder if any of the more passionate posters are implicated ...

Spare me.

The American people are the ones that could have saved Terri. They made clear their wishes were that she die. That they approved of Judicial sanctioned murder.

I am sickened by the Courts, but also by the attitudes of the majority in this country that had they had they slighest value for life could have provided the pressure needed on the Courts.

No, I'm not going after the people that attempted to help. I'm going after the root of the problem. This Culture and our Judiciary.

Gibbs made the right decision. That could have easily turned into a bloodbath.

"Olson said the FBI had been monitoring e-mails...."

And I'll bet they've been monitoring emails and other TCP/IP traffic from some folks here.

Bite me, big brother.
