I agree with you about the prevention of a bloodbath, which I think was Jeb's motivation in not sending DCF in past Greer's police force. It's pretty shocking that a judge has those powers, though.
I also wonder why U.S. Marshalls weren't sent, since it does seem that they would take priority over the local police. Or maybe not - I'm not familiar with the law on these matters.
A judge DOESN't have executive powers -- Jeb should have ordered those cops to stand down, because the judge was usurping Jeb's authority. Jeb was a wimp - and Terri loses, but so does our constitutional system of government.
Once the congressional subpoenas were issued, federal law protected Terri from any harm as she was a witness. The state court order would be effectively stayed until after she testified. The U.S. Marshals should have been sent in immediately. Despite the beliefs of Just@ss Greer, a state court order doesn't trump a federal statute.
Hmmmmm? I think Jeb didn't send the DCF in because Judge Greer issued a court order to keep DCF OUT - Geeeeee .. I wonder if that might have been the reason ..?? Ya think!
