LOS ANGELES Two women stole a preserved 13-week-old fetus from an acclaimed exhibit at the California Science Center, authorities said Tuesday.

The fetus, its tissues infused with polymers in a process called plastination to prevent decay indefinitely, was part of a traveling display, "Body Worlds 2: The Anatomical Exhibition of Real Human Bodies."
A surveillance camera captured the women removing the fetus from an unlocked display case on the third floor early Saturday during the round-the-clock closing weekend of the exhibit, police Detective Jimmy Render said.
Other people were inside the room at the time but they may not have been aware of the theft, he said.
"There's no indication at this time of the motives behind the stealing of the plastinated fetus," Render said. "There had been no threats."
The theft was the first ever involving "Body Worlds" displays, which have been seen by millions of people worldwide.
"We are deeply concerned and disappointed by the theft of this invaluable and irreplaceable specimen," Angelina Whalley, director of the Institute for Plastination, said in a statement
I bet they stole it to bury it.
Think they are some crazy right-to-lifers? Those people give Republicans a bad name. sarcasm off/
What those so called Republicans need to realize is that they can't win without us.
The women were probably abortionists who do not want anyone to see that a 13 week old fetus is actually a human baby.
I think they made a movie about this with Glenn Close and Michael Douglas: Fetal Attraction.
I am sorry, I should have been more clear. I am on the side of Dr. Dobson. My message was to those who want Terri dead and those Big Business, or as we used to call them, blue-blooded Republicans.
I hope the politicians are listening.
As a kid, I was freaked out for years after seeing the exhibit of baby development at the Chicago Museum of Science & Industry. Thankkfully, I also took in the coal mine exhibit.
My mom, who is an RN, started training me to become a doctor at a very young age. Latin, books on anatomy and all that. I don't get freaked out too bad and once had a guys arm in my lunch cooler, have dealt with spurting-blood wounds and all kinds of stuff but that exhibit and the German guy who flays humans for "art" give me the willies!
I decided to become an engineer. Dirt & concrete can't talk back, and I still get to bury my mistakes.
Bingo. We have a winner.
And a fascinating one, at that. I saw it three weekends ago.
LOL!! True.
Perhaps the women were going to bury the poor child.
