Bill Clinton Supports Rescuing Schiavo
NewsMax ^ | 3/30/05 | Limbacher

While New York Sen. Hillary Clinton has virtually gone into hiding - as have many other Democrats - regarding whether or not Terri Schiavo should be starved to death, ex-President Bill Clinton was reportedly was "egging on" one of Hillary's colleagues to support federal intervention to rescue Schiavo.

Reports CBS's Dottie Lynch:

"[Sen. Tom Harkin] forged the coalition with Republicans Frist, Santorum, Martinez and, according to two sources, had the support of former President Clinton for his actions. While Mr. Clinton apparently didn't talk to Harkin until after the vote, one source described Mr. Clinton as 'egging him on.'"

It wouldn't be the first time Bill Clinton urged fellow Democrats to side with conservatives on traditional values issues.

During the presidential campaign, the triangulator-in-chief advised Sen. John Kerry to find a way to support at least a few of gay marriage bans that were on the ballot on eleven states.

Kerry rejected the advice and lost the election.

So why hasn't Mr. Clinton exhorted Mrs. Clinton to join Harkin in the bid to save Schiavo? "He probably did," one longtime Clinton watcher opined to NewsMax. "And it looks like she turned him down."

i'm betting that as the end is nearer, more will voice support but only as it is too late to make a difference ... shrillary will pipe up soon

wouldn't that be just like a political animal to "play" this. I began to wonder when Jesse showed up. In #42's case, I'm sure it nothing more than shameless, opportunistic, political posturing. Odd that by comparison Jeb's politcal cowardice appears to be of a nobler variety than clinton's.

They all make me sick -- shame on them!

I didn't hear about his hidden agenda?

Could you tell me? Is it National Health care?

Hmmm. I haven't heard either of the Clintons actually SAY anything. Can it be that the press won't give them a microphone to let their voice be heard?

Yeah, right.

I guess they haven't had time to really make up their minds yet. I mean it's only been, what? Almost two weeks that Terri Schiavo has been dehydrating to death at judicial order?

I guess I had misjudged the Clintons. Their decisive, courageous moral leadership in this case is soooo gratifiying.

Yesterday on Sean Hannity show, a congresswoman (cannot remember name) was quoted as saying the demi-crats stayed out of this because Bill Clinton told them to.

He's a weasel and a dirty rotten SOB, but he has sound political instincts (that's how he gets away with it).

He is looking bad.

I'm not wishing it on anyone, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him pass away before Bush 41 does. Clinton and Bush 41 almost look the same frickin age!!!

I thought the Arkancide Trailer Park Stank had informed the Democrats to stay mum on this subject matter? Maybe shrillary will have his LSS disconnected when the time comes. It took a village trailer park in Arcansauce to raise Shill/Shrillary. NSNR

If Bubba supports federal intervention to save Terri, then we know those polls MUST be wrong.

Well, JJ made a public statement the weekend the tube was removed, on tv, twice. He wasn't in Florida but he was using his voice. And that is not late

It seems to me that some have claimed this issue as their own and are reluctant to admit anyone who isn't their clone.

"What's with Newsmax -- noticed several of their articles on this story that don't quite track. Let Clinton speak in public -- anonymous sources doesn't cut it with me."

You are right on the money PhiKapMom. I no longer surf NewsMax or Drudge for that matter. The return of my computer's health (and my sanity) has been amazing.

Carl Limbacher's -Inside Cover- Articles on TERRI on Newsmax.com have been a real service for CLARITY in TERRI's Case and most pro-active to effect a good outcome in it.

Newsmax.com has always been, and will always be, a 1st Stop for me.

Just have a Conservative TV Guest mention Newsmax.com on the air and watch how longtime CLINTON TV Talking-Heads come completely unglued, exposing themselves as the screaming BULLIES they have always been.

Works like a charm every time.

Thank you, Newsmax.com.

Willy is looking pale. Maybe He sees himself in a bad position, and Hilary doesn't need Him anymore.

Yes, Both (Bubba & Willard) are. ..as he sees, his fate rapidly approaching, then the "Pity Parade" starts.

I just had the funny thought of Clinton's squad that "rescued" Elian. They'd do the trick.

Well, Nader, Jackson and Slick are looking a mite peekid these days. Maybe it's not really about the politics of this issue.

Nothing like Slick waiting until the eleventh hour when nothing short of a miracle by God can save Terri's life, do we hear from Bubba. Why am I not surprised and sickened that anyone cares to even hear his narsasistic poll driven opinion?
