KABUL (AFP) - US First Lady Laura Bush arrived in Afghanistan on a lightning visit to promote education and the role of women in society and to meet with US troops, an AFP correspondent said.
Bush, who is due to stay in Kabul for about five hours, touched down at Bagram Air Base, the US headquarters in Afghanistan, after leaving Washington late Tuesday.
She then flew by US military helicopter to Kabul University where she was due to meet a gathering of Afghan women and girls.

Yah, I love Laura Bush, but I would rather have seen her at Pinellas Park, Florida.

Ask to comment on the First Lady's as a New York state function, Sen Hillary Clinton (a self-proclaimed World Women's Rights advocate) said she had no statement.

You know it would be understandable if there weren't 232 active Terri threads. With all of those threads, there is a still a concerted effort to hijack every other thread into a Terri thread as well. It's beyond annoying.

SkyPilot , Why did ya have to post senator blackpantsuit on my beautiful thread .
:( Yhis is better :)

Laura Bush is doing the right thing, an admirable thing. Don't expect Hillary and her pantsuiters to call it either of the above.

Laura Bush is the epitome of the classic American woman. She has grace, poise, beauty, and GRIT! God bless her...it is woman like her that keep this country on the right track. She may not be in Florida with Terri, but she represents millions of Americans who are fighting to the bitter end for the rights of a human being to live!

Mrs. Bush is an awesome, strong, intelligent woman. Our prez wouldn't be half as great (probably wouldn't be prez) if not for her. I am proud of her and the strong conservative ladies like Mrs. Hughes and Dr. Rice.
