Very interesting story, and now I know where at least ONE
of his lawsuits against you came from. I assume the other was also storage-related. Though I really can't see how your unwillingness to relinquish your space could have brought about a lawsuit, which I would think he would have to KNOW was unwinnable.

It's possible. They might even to be able to continue doing so. Hasn't he written a book(s)?

Plus, there were major prosecution errors in this trial...number one of them was not fighting the moving of the trial from West LA to Downtown Los Angeles.

No deal...:)

Well, we'll all sleep better tonight knowing there's one less schyster (did I spell that right??) in this earthbound arena.

I'll agree that he did the job for his client, but he did it illegitimitally - he knew damn well that Orenthal was the Butcher of Brentwood.

Interesting tidbit......I worked, at the time OJ offed his victims, not 200 yards from the crime scene; it was a VERY interesting year or so in that Brentwood area.

Well ole johnny sure made the case a racist trial. So why wouldnt he be remembered for it??. The OJ case wasnt about bad lawyering it was about ...JURY NULLIFICATION. Like ole johnny said give me one black = hung jury give me two blacks = acquittal.

Go put your sheet back on, you lowlife.

RE: "People cheering for death are a bunch of sickos and lunatics. I am sorry there are so many here."

This isn't the half of it. Did you happen to see some of the threads after Christopher Reeves died? You'd have thought that he was Hitler by the reactions of some FReepers. That was truly chilling. Try disagreeing with any plank, any sliver of the agenda of some FReepers and not get called an evil sinner who will burn in hell and yada yadda and God hates me....

Listen, I never liked Johnny Cochran. I never liked his race-baiting or penchant for red herrings in the courtroom, and I never liked his association with the O.J. Simpson case (mostly because I believe that Cochran knew that O.J. was probably guilty when he accepted the gig and did it anyway).

But Johnny himself was no murderer, no rapist, no thief. Cochran wasn't a criminal or a dangerous man, and I cannot join in with the ghouls who think that his untimely death today is occassion for popping the cork on the bubbly and dancing around the damn Maypole. And what's this crock equating the black students who cheered upon hearing the O.J verdict with the Muslim fundamentalists who danced in the streets on 9/11? What the Hell is that? The difference is that many black people (including some of my childhood friends and their parents) actually BELIEVED that O.J. was an innocent man framed by racists, while few if any of those Palestinians believed that Bin Laden didn't do it (yet supported the murders anyway out of the hatred in their hearts).

The truth is that while FReepers may be right on the spot on politics 90% of the time, many of them are just as angry and deranged as those socialist dingbat hicks over at DU. Once again proving that while individuals can be/are smart and good-hearted, any large group of people will have it's share of bad, bad apples.

Cochrane's legacy:

Defending the Indefensible

(And he did well)

What's your problem? It says right in front of you Jonny said it, not Wild Bill 10.

It appears cochran wore the sheet.

RE: "If you really want to be appalled, go to DU's "LBN" and read the posts under "Falwell being in Critical Condition", and he hasn't even passed on."

I wonder how many FReepers thought about their hypocricy before they posted these "Cochran is burning in hell" comments on this thread. I wonder how many of them think that their vicious comments are more justified than the "May Falwell rot" kinda stuff of DU today.

To me, both of these posting factions are equally cruel, nasty, and hyperbolic. Though I've never had any love or support for Cochrans brand of slick race-baiting (and dividing) or Falwell's authoritarian (anti-) moral attitudes, neither of these men are truly evil people, and neither of them deserve our outright scorn on the day of their death. May we get at least a day's peace when we pass before others are ripping us apart like the FReepers and DUmmies are doing today.

RE: "I guess free republic people only believe in a certain legal system. Much like a lynch mob."

It's worse than you think. I'd wager that maybe 15-20% of FR wouldn't oppose a total police state here in America as long as it is they who gets to make the rules and hand out instant punishments from on high.

Not just murderers, but dope dealers and pimps, too. That's how he got his start, defending the worst elements in society.

Spoken like a true, frustrated Leftist deprived of their power, over which they obsess. Keep it up. The Courts are also about to become more conservative, despite the misleading polls being released. W. wants conservative judges now more than ever. Deal with it.

RE: "There have been quite a few of them lately. It has sent me into my "mostly a lurker" mode."

The reduction in many FReepers interest in the website is becoming more common, I'm afraid, because of the wealth of vicious, nasty "single-issue/litmus tester" posters in the last few years.

My turning point away from te "Ooh, I love to post here and I do it ALL the time" attitude came from the nasty flames I receive every time I refuse to back the agenda of the "God hates f**s; go AIDS!" rednecks that are quite commonplace on this site.
