Rest in peace? Try fry in hell.

I think a Higher Power will judge him, not us.

"Freepers are not supposed to be ***holes."

Believe me, I've seen more than my share posting on here (especially the past few weeks).

FR is not the same Free Republic I knew when I signed up in 2001. I've noticed some FReepers becoming more crass.

I'm indifferent to who Cochran was as a person but his passing will leave a family that will miss him.

That is all.

By that standard, Hitler could be praised for "doing his job well." Surely you don't mean this standard to be taken literally. And assuming you don't mean it to be taken literally, then you owe us a further explanation.

As for Cochran's decent behavior outside of the courtroom or his legal practice -- doesn't matter much to me. This man was a significant part of the ongoing corruption of American law and justice. And he conducted himself abominably in the OJ case. That's what matters.

Put me in the no class category. I celebrate no man's death, but I refuse to shed tears over a shyster lawyer who got a double killer off by playing the race card. Cochran was just another two bit lawyer who got rich playing on the stupidity and racism of the American public.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks...

I am very comfortable judging Cochran. I remember Ron and Nicole.

Screw you. I don't pretend that Cochran was "an anomaly" in Los Angeles. But he was one small part of the problem.
And just because a city is relatively lacking in "family values" doesn't mean that it deserves to be destroyed by vampires like Cochran. Again, screw you.

Hopefully he wrote in his will that oj told him he killed Ron and Nicole. But then again oj would sue his estate. Oh well,

And then there are those who simply need to pass judgement, or to criticize, or to ridicule, or to ........ And, I hate to say it, I am growing weary of my favorite forum.

That sentiment is sometimes mutual. But forgive me for waxing philosophical for a moment. I'm really finding this rather cathartic.

Think of a gritty, grimy city in the summertime that hasn't had rain in a few weeks. It looks and feels nasty, right? Then, a brief thunderstorm comes through. That rain cleans everything up for a bit, then we see things as they are.

What I'm saying is that I'm not one who will live under an illusion. Honesty cleans things up. This thread and many Terri Schiavo/Schindler threads were the thunderstorms, now we can see more clearly.

I was being sarcastic. Too bad you lack the intellect to realize that. Of course defendents have the right to a defense. Cochran figured that a good offense is the best defense and perpetrated a fraud. He got suckers to believe that Simpson was framed, by framing the law enforcement people involved in the murder investigation. A murderer was set free to live amoung us and the victims got to rot in their graves. My tears are shed for the loved ones of Simpson's murder victims, not for Cochran.

If the jury is as dumb as sh*t,

they will acquit!

I agree with you, Johnny Cochran just did his job well. We might not like that job, but he was good at it, and I have had too many friends and relatives die of cancer to take pleasure in anyone's suffering. I am not qualified to judge anyone's worth, when you set yourself up as an arbitrater of personal worth, you are no better than those who wish Terry Shiavo dead.

Jury nullification has nothing necessarily to do with racism. The jury IS free to disregard the evidence, in each case, every time. Juries are as powerful, if not more powerful, than judges. With all the endless screaming about the corrupt judiciary around here lately, you'd think it would occur to conservatives to remember that.

If Beethoven were alive today, he'd probably be clawing at his coffin trying to get out!

Years after he was buried, they needed to prove that it really was LvB who was in the coffin, so they dug it up and opened it.

They saw a shriveled old man surrounded with music sheets, busily erasing them.

"Herr Beethoven! What are you doing?"

"Don't bother me, you fools! Can't you see I'm decomposing?"
