I don't want to be a hotlinker, but no matter which side of this you're on, you'll have to admit that this is the funniest take on this case yet - and it's aimed squarely at us.

As soon as Tom Delay made his case for Terri, dontcha know those Democratic operatives were scouring NexisLexis for dirt on him.
So 18 years ago, his father was severely injured and the whole family agreed not to prolong his pain. He was 65 years old and his condition was terminal.
My God these people are so deranged.

Hello,
And thank you! I must admit, I got into a few heated and emotional discussions over this issue, as there are folks here that are completely over the top on one side, and there are some very cold and heartless people that have shown themselves as well.
As the moment of her death draws near, all I can do is be logical and look to what I and others can do to correct/prevent this in the future. So let's get busy!

Autopsy to be performed by the Pinellas county ME. Anyone know anything about him? Of course not, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone didn't accuse him of being Michael Schiavo's homosexual lover, or Judge Greer's illegitimate love child in an effort to discredit him before the autopsy is half over with.

I do believe the Penellas County ME was involved in the activities which resulted in Terri's current condition.

Bush appoints physician as medical examiner
St. Petersburg Times
October 11, 2000
LARGO -- Gov. Jeb Bush on Tuesday appointed Dr. Jon R. Thogmartin as the new Pinellas-Pasco medical examiner.
Thogmartin, 36, Palm Beach County's highly regarded medical examiner, replaces Dr. Joan Wood, who retired Sept. 30 after nearly 20 years in office. Thogmartin starts the $145,000-a-year job Dec. 1. Until then, Associate Medical Examiner Laura Hair will serve as the office's interim chief.
Thogmartin was the near-unanimous choice of a local search committee to replace Wood. The Florida Medical Examiner's Commission also recommended him to Bush. Wood, 56, was forced out of office after prosecutors earlier this year dropped charges against the Church of Scientology, blaming Wood's reversal of opinion in the death of Scientologist Lisa McPherson for damaging their criminal case.

greer was ELECTED.
And has already said he's not running again.
I found the expulsion of Greer from his church to be perhaps the most disturbing thing. Judges are supposed to rule according to their interpretation of the written law. Had he followed the beliefs of his church instead, that would be judicial activism at an extreme level.
How would people have reacted if Scott Peterson's judge refused to sentence him to death, based upon personal opposition to capital punishment?

Hello,
I agree, FR will survive. But, it has been a difficult time. I simply hope that when this is over, we can come together and work hard to see that this will not happen again. Terri's gift to all of us to cast a harsh light upon something that I have now come to believe happens quite frequently.
Glad to be here, MOgirl

Logic, reason, and objectivity are psychobabble nonsense? Melas, you won't get any respect by taking a partial piece of my statement just so you can twist what I said.

"Ya better break out the camping equipment for this one! :-)" What's the difference? Can't go anywhere on the forum without someone bringing up Terri Shiavo on every thread.
Now, before I get body slammed for that statement, let me let everyone know; I understand this is an important issue to the collective you/we/us...it is, IMO, not the only issue.
My perception is somewhat like that of the onlookers in the cartoon drawing.

Please cite the statute that allows a judge to forbid a person from being allowed oral food and hydration.
