After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.
Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.
Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.
The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.
She certainly is one tough cookie. I keep thinking of MS wondering when that B**** is going to die. Well, guess what, Mikey, she isn't gonna die after13 days, because she wants to LIVE. God and Terri are in control. NOT YOU,MIKEY.
I love that!!!
looks like you are in the hymnal singing now too!!*G*
It's better than listening and or reading some things!
I want to be with the Lord on this and I can't handle the negative. So I'll sing and pray!!!
I'm praying for Florida voters to bombard Tallahassie with faxes and calls and emails FOR Terri!!!!!!!
Couldn't have said it better myself.
If Jesse Jackson comes out the hero here, I will eat my hat.
In your judgement, the President is not hamstrung, but made a deliberate decision not to do what he knew he had the right and duty to do. Right? Otherwise, why is he roasted on here, unless that's what most seem to believe.
I wrote explicit posts yesterday wherein I set forth that both he and Jeb have been raised and had it drummed into them that you obey court rulings even when they are wrong. They function only within the system, and that is the system as we know it.
Is GWB a leader? Yes he is, but only within the system. As Commander in Chief on 9-11, he believed that he was the one who had to respond and form a plan to lead this nation to more security and punish our attackers.
That's within the system. People are always roasting him now for doing it in Iraq but not saving Terri in spite of the court rulings. Unfortunately, to him these are two totally different things.
I'm all for disagreeing with someone's judgement, but I know for certain that he and brother Jeb are set in concrete against disobeying judicial rulings. This is bad for many reasons, besides Terri, because now we are under pro-death judges who act like dictators and like Greer, even break laws themselves.
I truly hope and pray the Bushes will see the light and learn the truth.
I truly hope you like the taste of cloth...and I'll join you. Pass the ketchup, please.
Live a life filled with love for others, following the example of Christ, who loved you and gave Himself as a sacrifice to take away your sins. And God was pleased, because that sacrifice was like sweet perfume to Him. Ephesians 5:2 (NLT)
Amen!!!!! Me too!
I ask that they be so confused they are like worms on hot pavement!
Lord...confuse the and make them squirm!!!!!!
I'm disappointed also that he hasn't done anything more, but I am not in a position (and I'd say no one here is, as we're not privy to the info he has) to judge him for why he hasn't done more since he made a special trip back to DC to sign a law for Terri in the middle of the night.
When you say things like this, "I have seen a sigh, a shrug, and 'Oh, well, did what I could.'" it spreads a misconception when we've never seen him sigh and shrug and say that. In actuality, we've seen him make a special trip to save ONE person's life: Terri's.
President Bush is human, so he's going to make mistakes. Whether he's making one here, I don't know enough to say, even though people keep posting stuff that says he does. In reality, things are more complicated than that.
I will say this: I have seen W stand up and do what is right REGARDLESS of what people said about him, so I have no reason to think that that is what is holding him back now. He must have a good reason, and until I hear otherwise, I'm not going to criticize a man who HAS tried to save Terri.
I think it's better for us to wait until the dust settles and hopefully the truth will come out over time.
Your points are well taken and I agree with them. Therein lies the problem. Many Republican FReepers don't like Roy Moore, Alan Keyes and probably not the Thomas More Law Center either. As hard as it is for them to approve of the government starving Terri to death the cult of personality is greater than the Constitution or natural rights in their eyes. The people you quote must be wrong or else the Bushes would be wrong and that can't be.
You and me, both. It was the blind following of corrupt and evil laws that led to the rise of nazism. I'd like to see the President AND the Governor at least stand up and say, "We are following the law, but the law is wrong and the law needs to be challenged and changed."
I didn't see that one on the Domestic Security Task Force Investigator.
Thanks!
We left Wednesday to go to the hospice vigil. On the way down, we almost turned around because Jeb Bush held a press conference and said he had the authority to go in. We assumed he was going in. Why else would he make such an announcement. We discussed it, but decided to make the 11 hour trip anyway. I don't know what's going on in Florida, but it doesn't stop with Judge Greer.
Truth, thanks. But you know? I can get on an airplane and sign a piece of paper on the other end, too. That doesn't make him a hero in this case.
Amen
busy still .. thanks for posting
Yes, the Floridians will be on the FAX,CALL, battlefront. We outside of Florida will be on the SING, PRAY battle front.
Lord, I Believe In You
Though I can't see Your holy face
And Your throne in heaven above
It seems so far away
Though I cant touch your nail scarred hands
I have a deep and unspeakable joy
That makes my faith to stand
Lord, I believe in You
I'll always believe in You
Though I cant see you with my eyes
Deep in my heart
Your presence I find
Lord, I believe in You
And I'll keep my trust in You
Let the whole world say what they may
No one can take this joy away
Lord, I believe
Born from above
You are Gods only chosen one
Youre the one and only true way
To the Fathers heart
You died for all sin
Then you rose and now live again
Conquering death and the grave
So that I might live
Lord, I believe in You
I'll always believe in You
Though I cant see you with my eyes
Deep in my heart
Your presence I find
Lord, I believe in You
And I'll keep my trust in You
Let the whole world say what they may
No one can take this joy away
Lord, I believe
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in his wonderful face,
And the things of earth will growly strangely dim,
In the light of His Glory and Grace.

Michael Schiavo is the one who deserves all of our anger. Without his total devotion to kill his wife, we would not be in the place we are today in connection with Terri Schiavo.
He wants his wife dead. He was married to her fo 5 years then she went into this state she is in. He had 2 children and has this common law wife............... why does he not just call this to an end and let Terri's parents have control over her........... what is the harm in letting Terri live????
That is the question that needs to be answered and asked.
