After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.
Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.
Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.
The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.
They would need to toughen it up so that the judges can't weasel out like they did on Terri.
You bet I am still praying for that precious one. I have been gone most of the day. It has been a hard day for me, but glorious in the sense that I know that God will WIN IN THE END!!!.......I pray for a divine miracle. I think someone said that Moses fasted for 40 days and nights without water and food. I pray that God will sustain Terri right now until justice can be done.
By the way, do you or anyone else know how you can view someones profile? I wanted to check something and don't know where on FR to look.........
Whatever Happened to the Human Race? movie by Schaffer & Koop was just ONE of those that predicted the invalids would soon be in danger, right after the handicapped newborns. Remember Baby Doe? Did a judge issue an execution order for him, like the one Greer issued on Terri? no nutrition or hydration?
We need G*d fearing people in elected office that know the diference between right and wrong and have the courage to stand and fight.
Nobody better than mom.:) The worst part is I know find myself not wanting them to get married because I'm really worried.

Thank you dear Valleygal. We are worn, all of us. And I believe that the battle is not yet over!!! I will soon retire for the night, but God will remain watch over Terri.

There's links I posted to two pdf files....one is about 33 pages; the other I think is about 11 pages (I'm tired, it could be longer). I think it behooves everyone to not only download the pdf files to read/study what the "End of Life" roundtable discussions/implementation into Florida law was, but this will probably now be implemented around the country, seeing as how it's been so "successful" in Terri's "judicial" execution.

The law, even the constitution, has limits. The remedy lies in the hearts of men. Choose your surrogates with care, and choose surrogates! My advice is to put NOTHING in writing, because the written words can be misconstrued. Trust you surrogate to assert ethical judgement in the face of an unethical legal and medical community. Not all lawyers and doctors are unethical, but it's the "safe bet" to assume they are.

Yes we do! I've been telling that to people for weeks now. Now is not the time to be running off to live like Swiss Family Robinson. People need to stop telling their kids that judges, politicians and attorneys are all bad people.
We need to raise up a generation who are Godly and have the courage to stand firm in the face of evil.

This whole thing brings back to may bad memories. My brother was in almost an identical situation. My mother tried to get guardianship from my SIL because she had stuck him in a horrible nursing home where he lost tons of weight and got bedsores. She never even went and visited him. Once she got her money from the lawsuit, fortunately she immediately turned him over to my mother and divorced him, remarrying almost immediately. Unfortunately, by then it was too late for therapy to help. He died about thirteen years later of other causes. My children know this so this has given them additional insight.
