After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.
Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.
Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.
The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.
That's okay, Jesus does long shots very well.
Either Randall Terry or the priest stated that she did pass water last night which is a good sign.
"well, I'm not impressed, and haven't been for a long time now, about someone with an R after their name. It has begun to mean nothing."
My husband received a solicitation for money in the mail today from the Republican Party.
He called them on the number where you are to give your credit card to donate, and told them that he has given $$ in the past, which he has, but would not give now because of Terri.
He said the woman answering the phone was very nice, and seemed to want to talk, and seemed to write down what he said.
I am sorry that I misunderstood.
When the Lord gives us rest, it is indeed sweet.
I have to disagree with you and am one of the many here who feel Jeb has NOT done enough within the law or outside it. He knew at the very least 15 months ago with the inactment of Terri's Law that this day was coming and coming soon. He knew the new law wouldn't stand up because it was a rush job, however he failed to come up with anything else since that time. He knew it wa a matter of time, but waited again to the last moment this time too. This last minute emergency sessions just don't cut it. He knows it and we know he knows it, so what's he trying to do or not do?
Please tell me what Colmes said that annoyed you so. I am discabled.
Thanks much for the nice short summary of what happened with DCF.
I think Jeb is between a rock and a hard place. Everyone here and everywhere is verbally beating up on him real bad. Personally I don't think I can judge him, nor GWB. I know that W came back from vacation early and signed the Federal Bill in the middle of the night, supporting Terri's Right to Life. I will reserve my angst for all the Judges, I have a hard time condeming people who have tried to help. It looks so easy to us, but we are not privy to all the legal details.
If really there was a way for either Bush to help more I have to think that GibbsIII would have been waving those options all over the press by now. I think they are constrained. I am not going to "eat my young" on FR.
Also read Freeper Halls post #2877. That is what Sean, Randall, and the priest were discussing.
I was ready for his head to start spinning. I kid you not. I never saw such evil spewing from this man's mouth. Even the Priest and the family spokeman was shocked....
Just listening in on Sean and the buttinski Alan's tv show.
Randall Terry saying that 2 things would work in Terri's favor tomorrow -- if 3 votes came over for her, OR if 4 of the nay votes would just walk out, and not even vote, if they can't bring themselves to vote yes.
Let's hope for Terri to hang on, so this country will not have to bear the burden of her killing for the rest of our history.
Discabled...hey, I like that! :-D
What's that Colmes spouting off now? Hmm, do I really want to know? Yes, go ahead and tell me because you have to know the enemy.
I hope they're getting lots of calls. I hope the democRats are, too.
This really has nothing to do with someone's party beliefs.
It has to do with something much higher than man's laws.
I'm praying that one of her nurses is giving her little sips of water or letting her suck on the washcloth when she gets her bath each day.
nic,
Perhaps your rep was not able to get back to DC?
I have gotten 4 letters from my Rep Jim Sensenbrenner Judical Committee Leader who was the key in getting the legislation through. Sensenbrenner has been superb.
Thanks for that, I was worried...but anything that might help in Terri's fight has to be brought out into the open doesn't it? Her fight is our fight, we can't allow these ghouls to annihilate everything the Allies fought for during WW2.
I've been trying to give the highway department a head start by working pro-bono to design their templates for them.
"LET'S HEAD FOR BILOXI, EVERYBODY!"
Those two women on just now, I swear, were straight from the bowels of Hell.
Is there a vote again tomorow?
There are none so blind as those who WILL not see.
