He is Risen
The Holy Bible | Sunday, March 27, 2005 | The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit

Isaias 53: 10-12

And the Lord was pleased to bruise him in infirmity: if he shall lay down his life for sin, he shall see a long lived seed, and the will of the Lord shall be prosperous in his hand. Because his soul hath laboured, he shall see and be filled: by his knowledge shall this my just servant justify many, and he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I distribute to him very many, and he shall divide the spoils of the strong, because he hath delivered his soul unto death, and was reputed with the wicked: and he hath borne the sins of many, and hath prayed for the transgressors.

Psalm 68:18
Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive; thou hast received gifts in men.

Matthew 28:1-10

And in the end of the sabbath, when it began to dawn towards the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalen and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre.  And behold there was a great earthquake.

For an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and coming rolled back the stone and sat upon it.  And his countenance was as lightning and his raiment as snow.  And for fear of him, the guards were struck with terror and became as dead men.  And the angel answering, said to the women: Fear not you: for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here. For he is risen, as he said. Come, and see the place where the Lord was laid. And going quickly, tell ye his disciples that he is risen. And behold he will go before you into Galilee. There you shall see him. Lo, I have foretold it to you.

And they went out quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy, running to tell his disciples.  And behold, Jesus met them, saying: All hail. But they came up and took hold of his feet and adored him. Then Jesus said to them: Fear not. Go, tell my brethren that they go into Galilee. There they shall see me.

Alleluia!

Blessed be the Redeemer

Blessed be His Holy Name

Blessed be the fear of kings

Blessed be the joy of angels

Blessed be His everlasting reign

Blessed be the light of the world

Blessed be the conqueror of death

That's the one song I was going to post. Glad you beat me to it. Doesn't that just say it all? I've been to that garden tomb in Jerusalem. It's not far from Calvary. Guess what? It's empty, and has been empty for over 2000 years. That empty tomb proves my Saviour lives! I was so inspired that upon emerging from the tomb, I wanted to shout to the nations, "HE'S ALIVE, AND WE'RE FORGIVEN; HEAVENS GATES ARE OPENED WIDE!!" I guess I'll just shout over the Internet. Praise the everliving God!!!!

Christ is Risen...Truly He is risen

If you go here

you can click on the left hand side 4th one down where it says Christos Anestsi and listen to the sublime sounds of the hymn. I wish I knew how to embed it here.

It is good that we agree on that one thing. My Rector explained why he was sure Christ was resurrected. He said because he did not have faith in the Apostle's faith to get the job done. With out the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we would not know he is risen and we would not be saved.

It's good, and it's also essential. Whoever does not believe in the Resurrection, ipso facto, is not one of us.

This is the time of year we have the most important thing to hold on to. I am not kidding when I say that I am really joyous over the Resurrection. I don't remember being this much affected by this Holy Day in the past. Our choir was pretty good this year, and the faithful were all intelligent and positive. The women were beautiful, some of them in lovely Easter hats. My own daughter, 17, came home saying she wishes she had lived in the 1920's when people were civilized and unspoiled by TV and technology.

We are really blessed to live in this time. We should remember these days for the future, because we might not have our Mass for much longer.
