Bob and Mary Schindler, both practicing Catholics, urged dozens of supporters gathered outside the Florida hospice where Schiavo is being cared for to go home for Easter.
"The family would request that everyone go home, be with your children, hold them close and share every moment you have with them," said Brother Paul O'Donnell, a Franciscan monk who is a spiritual adviser to the Schindlers.
It was not clear if the Schindlers had finally abandoned all legal avenues in their fight to restart their 41-year-old daughter's feeding, a cause that embroiled the Florida legislature, the U.S. Congress and President Bush.

You don't have a clue what you're talking about, as usual.
well I've seen many posts that court the anarchy reasoning, or sending in state agents against the courts orders, or a very few calling for the killing of Greer or Michael S..I would think that would qualify for somewhat extreme
Thanks Tonk. I'll tell him. It will mean a lot to him. Especially when I tell him it's coming from a man who served honorably in the Navy in Viet Nam, continues to serve honorably in the Coast Guard, supports today's troops, was instrumental in exposing kerry's treason, and continues to work toward justice for America on many different fronts.
Sure I do. You're in Florida, using this opportunity to continue plotting the destruction of All Things Bush.
It's pretty sick, ya know, using this issue for political gain.
Would you call those running interference for Felos and his death cultists extreme, eh?
You and I both know that President and Governor Bush have the finest legal minds available to them working on this, and the consensus is that they have done all they can.
In fact, there was a conservative attorney on FR this morning getting pummeled by a bunch of people who expect George W. and Jeb Bush to save Terri Schiavo. He tried to explain that their legal advisers were undoubtedly telling them there was nothing they could do, but these people would not accept that.
They remain undeterred, of course.
Here's a little food AND water for thought to the Death Loving Felos, Greer, Schiavo and the rest of the "Death Culture".
Isaiah 59-
Listen! The Lord is not too weak to save you, and he is not becoming deaf. He can hear you when you call. 2 But there is a problem-your sins have cut you off from God. Because of your sin, he has turned away and will not listen anymore. 3 Your hands are the hands of murderers, and your fingers are filthy with sin. Your mouth is full of lies, and your lips are tainted with corruption.
4 No one cares about being fair and honest. Their lawsuits are based on lies. They spend their time plotting evil deeds and then doing them. 5 They spend their time and energy spinning evil plans that end up in deadly actions. 6 They cheat and shortchange everyone. Nothing they do is productive; all their activity is filled with sin. Violence is their trademark. 7 Their feet run to do evil, and they rush to commit murder. They think only about sinning. Wherever they go, misery and destruction follow them. 8 They do not know what true peace is or what it means to be just and good. They continually do wrong, and those who follow them cannot experience a moment's peace.
9 It is because of all this evil that deliverance is far from us. That is why God doesn't punish those who injure us. No wonder we are in darkness when we expected light. No wonder we are walking in the gloom. 10 No wonder we grope like blind people and stumble along. Even at brightest noontime, we fall down as though it were dark. No wonder we are like corpses when compared to vigorous young men! 11 We growl like hungry bears; we moan like mournful doves. We look for justice, but it is nowhere to be found. We look to be rescued, but it is far away from us. 12 For our sins are piled up before God and testify against us. Yes, we know what sinners we are. 13 We know that we have rebelled against the Lord. We have turned our backs on God. We know how unfair and oppressive we have been, carefully planning our deceitful lies. 14 Our courts oppose people who are righteous, and justice is nowhere to be found. Truth falls dead in the streets, and fairness has been outlawed. 15 Yes, truth is gone, and anyone who tries to live a godly life is soon attacked.
The Lord looked and was displeased to find that there was no justice. 16 He was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed. So he himself stepped in to save them with his mighty power and justice. 17 He put on righteousness as his body armor and placed the helmet of salvation on his head. He clothed himself with the robes of vengeance and godly fury. 18 He will repay his enemies for their evil deeds. His fury will fall on his foes in distant lands. 19 Then at last they will respect and glorify the name of the Lord throughout the world. For he will come like a flood tide driven by the breath of the Lord.
20 "The Redeemer will come to Jerusalem,*" says the Lord, "to buy back those in Israel* who have turned from their sins. 21 And this is my covenant with them," says the Lord. "My Spirit will not leave them, and neither will these words I have given you. They will be on your lips and on the lips of your children and your children's children forever. I, the Lord, have spoken!

If I had looked at the Florida law before this I'm not sure I would have found it all that bad, at least on the issues pertinent to this case. What I wouldn't have imagined is a half-wit Judge who 1) finds, in a deeply divided family, that only one side has the clear and convincing evidence 2) doesn't order all available tests be administered as independent verification of testimony.
I see your point. However, laws that leave too many loopholes are a continuing source of problems...
Did I say you did? What's the matter - do you have a guilty conscience or something?
Not without funding or the approval of the federal government, Florida is one of those southern states that the laws was re-written expressly for.
If you do you homework you'll find that everytime any Governor calls out the national guard they have to get permission from the federal government.
Why? because it is the "National" Guard not the Florida state militia.
The control you wish the governor had over the National Guard hasn't existed since before the Civil War.
Some guys never tire of getting spanked. It's amazing.
ROTFL... yeah.
well death cultist is your term....you don't like what they did so they are death cultists?.....I think he went to court, argued the merits of the case and prevailed....won more appeals and prevailed......how many appeals now, how many refused to be heard or outright....if he were doing something illegal. If he were advocating illegal behavior, then I would label him accordingly
YOu have unrealted Freepmail, by the way :oP
Okay, thank you.
I agree with you that all tests should have been ordered but anyone losing a case thinks the judge is an idiot...that's what the losing side always thinks.....if he had ruled to reinstate the tubes, he would be hailed a hero without consideration of any of his other rulings.....that is hypocritical in my book
Good night, and Happy Easter to you too, MTO. You're much more pleasant in disagreement than most, and I appreciate it.
