Bob and Mary Schindler, both practicing Catholics, urged dozens of supporters gathered outside the Florida hospice where Schiavo is being cared for to go home for Easter.
"The family would request that everyone go home, be with your children, hold them close and share every moment you have with them," said Brother Paul O'Donnell, a Franciscan monk who is a spiritual adviser to the Schindlers.
It was not clear if the Schindlers had finally abandoned all legal avenues in their fight to restart their 41-year-old daughter's feeding, a cause that embroiled the Florida legislature, the U.S. Congress and President Bush.

Thanks for the link. I always thought hospice was a pretty good group but after this in Fl, I don't know. I will read up on this.
I agree......many might think this "murder" but the majority of the polls like 65% or so say they would want the feeding tube removed and the govt to stay the hell out of this family matter....the definition of murder does not have legal standing in this matter except for as a "moral judgment".......one I am not prepared to make at this time
And executing innocent women who can't defend themselves.
No shots NEED be fired... however, all it takes is one misfire, or even worse, some nutcase in a crowd to fire into the air once, and...
It is an unjust execution of an innocent woman, unfortunately in accordance with the laws of the state - laws that should never have seen the light of day, and need to be changed ASAP.
They really need to look over their laws and regulations, and other states too, for loopholes like this.

Yes, they do. These laws never should have seen the light of day. We, as a people, really dropped the ball on this one, and ultimately, we are all to blame.
Don't know about that but Rush read the polls the other day and they were similar. Problem I see though is most people just think this is a family squabble. Guess they don't think the state of FL courts, legislature are part of their government. They have been involved for years with this case. Government just means the Pres and Congress. They have no idea what the ramifications are here. Either that or we are all lost.
Dear Father God - we have worked so hard to get the word out about Terri. Many of us have emailed and called - attempted to get the TRUTH regarding her case to all that will listen. We have prayed and prayed and encouraged Jeb Bush, and President Bush to do SOMETHING. At this late hour, it is apparent they have done all the court sysytem will allow them to do. We thank you for their efforts.
Father, we do not know Your will. We only know that when Terri comes home, she will no longer be suffering, and we thank You for that.
Father we ask that as soon as her spirit leaves this earth, that Judge Greer, George Felos, Michael Schiavo, and ALL of the Judges who have had an opportunity to save her - begin to feel Your will, and that Your Justice will be done.
We know Terri will not have died in vain. Her legacy will live on - and we will not allow this atrocity on earth to be forgotten. We have faith , Father, that You will have the vengance - for Terri's sake.
Thank You, Dear God, for being All knowing, ALL loving, and for allowing us to spread the Truth - for Terri's sake.

To the Schindlers: I have no idea if you will ever read this, but I have cried with you,for you, fought with you from my position in life - and I applaud the efforts you have made for your daughter. I am so sorry. I do not have words to convey how I feel for you and your other children. God is with you. Rest in that.
To the FReepers reading this now: We cannot give up. Even though THIS particular battle may be lost - we cannot give up our quest to RIGHT the wrongs in this world. Sometimes WE are the only voices people have. Do not give up the Fight.
Remember to attempt to join the march in D.C. on April 7th. Perhaps we can prevent 'future' Terri's from this suffering - if we make our voices heard.

very good.....you seem to know more about this than the Pres, the Gov, and all the butt kissing attorneys.....how come they are not as smart or heroic as you??????.......or for that matter many here on FR who think they know the law and any legal precedence better than those involved?
AP News is reporting that the husband has denied Terri communion on Easter.
Would you expect less from a murdering adulterer?
Many people think that Hospice is just another medical facility. In fact Hospice is where you go to die. There is no medical care beyond that of "helping along the dying process". If you change your mind then you had better leave the facility post-haste because treatment is NOT an option. I have been in many "right to die" debates on FR and have always maintained that we are going from a "right to die" to a "duty to die" mindset in this country. The polls and legal profession have shown us that we have arrived.
I agree with your argument, Dan, but if they aren't showing the pictures from 9-11 (lest the public be reminded why we're taking the fight to the terrorists), they sure as hell aren't going to show any of the pictures of her dying like this.
My question is this: when this kind of stuff happened with Germany and the Nazis, we were one of the countries who rode to the rescue. In fact, when any country gets in trouble like that, we have come to their rescue.
Who is going to come to ours?
