After Defeats Schiavo Parents Tell Supporters Go Home
AP - Yahoo ^ | March 26, 2005 | Jane Sutton

Bob and Mary Schindler, both practicing Catholics, urged dozens of supporters gathered outside the Florida hospice where Schiavo is being cared for to go home for Easter.

"The family would request that everyone go home, be with your children, hold them close and share every moment you have with them," said Brother Paul O'Donnell, a Franciscan monk who is a spiritual adviser to the Schindlers.

It was not clear if the Schindlers had finally abandoned all legal avenues in their fight to restart their 41-year-old daughter's feeding, a cause that embroiled the Florida legislature, the U.S. Congress and President Bush.

Glad to give you a laugh.

If I couldn't laugh now and then over the absurdities abounding in this case,
I would truly go insane.

Felos also stated in that interview, just prior to what you wrote (it was the first time I saw her) "...since she was removed from life support..."

LIFE SUPPORT! That's news, she wasn't on life support, a feeding tube is NOT life support. The spin goes on...

>>Greer and Felos are both members of the Hemlock Society. And they are both involved in the hospice chain. They moved Terri into THEIR hospice in order to test out their new euthanasia law, signed by Jeb Bush in 1999.<<<

Goodness.

This case stinks with a capitol SSSSUCK!

That is Florida for ya'.

I don't think I've seen one single FReeper who doesn't believe that it is an injustice.

Really? I've seen several. Most of them long time members of FR. They've been pinging each other as a group to threads where they defend all of Judge Greer's rulings as being just.

I meant STARVATIOIN has been done all over the world.

I don't think Muslims would even deign to think woman are worth putting feeding tubes INTO their bodies..!!

They do 'honor killings,' don't they?

Goodness, Aliska -

Don't give them any ideas. They are such evil vile people they would love to do the dehydration and starvation routine to whoever they capture.

theory it could be done, if we are willing to try.

Please enlighten me - what's your theory for getting it done? legislative action? The solution to courts ignoring legislation is not more legislation - that's a logical absurdity.

Actually, from what I understand (and I'm absolutely certain I will be corrected if I'm wrong) Florida state law considers feeding tubes to be a facet of Life Support.

Sick, but state law.

Terri's parents amend the call to go home as per thread:

Terri's Father: Stay With Terri, and with Us; 24-hour Vigil to Continue
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/1371621/posts

Earlier this evening a misspoken statement told supporters to go home and be with their families.

Terri Schiavo's father, Bob Schindler, would like to correct this with following statement:

"What I meant to have announced was that people should go home and go to church with their families on Easter Sunday. But not to stay home. We want people to continue to be here [at the hospice] with Terri, and with us." -- Bob Schindler, Sr.

The 24-hour vigil will continue in front of the Woodside Hospice, where Terri lives, located at 6774 102nd Avenue N. (near 66th Street N and 102nd Avenue N) in Pinellas Park, Florida.

They're equal.

Gov. Bush did not WANT to do want he should.

I keep saying that...I keep saying that....

And so do others!

Well, a blend of legislation and impeachments of judges might be a good start...

That should read

YOUR PRESENCE IS DEMANDED AT THE HOME OF KING GEORGE FOR EASTER BRUNCH TOMORROW. IT IS SO ORDERED AND ADJUDGED.

King George is the boss, after all.

President Bush should order the National guards to protect the body of Terri Schindler from being immediately cremated by Mike "The Murderer" Schiavo, thus destroying all trace of his physical spousal abuse toward Terri.

If he won't protect her while she is alive then why do you think he will do anything after she is dead? He is a wimp like his read my lips no new taxes father. It sad that Reno had more courage than the Bush family. Damn sad.

I firmly believe that the sheriffs surrounding that hospice would throw down their weapons and lay out the red carpet for Governor Bush, if he acted tonight and brought in the Guard.

Just my opinion.

They are probably as sick as everyone else about what is happening tonight in the starvation bunker they are guarding.

I think you might mean that some of us defend the rule of law and don't feel that violence or anarchy is a necessary resultant when the remedy does not fit one's ideals....we can change the laws for sure, but not circumvent them for our own moral prejudice

I still have much respect for Gov. Bush and here is why.

He did not break the law to save Terri Schiavo, neither did his brother.

Aside from doing that they both did everything the law would allow them to do.

and I don't have to like it, but I respect their respect for the law, Judge Greer however is a whole other matter.

He bent the law ten ways to sunday.
