After Defeats Schiavo Parents Tell Supporters Go Home
AP - Yahoo ^ | March 26, 2005 | Jane Sutton

Bob and Mary Schindler, both practicing Catholics, urged dozens of supporters gathered outside the Florida hospice where Schiavo is being cared for to go home for Easter.

"The family would request that everyone go home, be with your children, hold them close and share every moment you have with them," said Brother Paul O'Donnell, a Franciscan monk who is a spiritual adviser to the Schindlers.

It was not clear if the Schindlers had finally abandoned all legal avenues in their fight to restart their 41-year-old daughter's feeding, a cause that embroiled the Florida legislature, the U.S. Congress and President Bush.

Wrong. Greer only deserves the same protections he has given to Terri Schiavo.

Ah, some friendly faces!

I'm still trying to catch up on this thread, while writing letters, doing Hubby's paperwork, and talking on the phone. I'm afraid I've fallen way behind in all those tasks. Looks like I upset a few people. They're "ignoring" me about every 30 seconds. LOL

I need to amend that last comment.

They'll help him to evade justice, "because they'll be given a legal order to do so."

I bet if you looked closer, you'd find that the judge has immunity from prosecution for actions resultant from his legal rulings, but I don't know that for a fact...

That wasn't the question I asked. I asked if a judge orders someone to commit a crime, is it still a crime?

Think of your loved ones, and now tell me, if you can imagine not being able to be with them constantly at the end, when they lay dying....

That is the tradegy, Bob and Mary don't even get to spend all the time they want to, with their little girl...

Yes, this cries out to God for Justice.

Symptoms of Dehydration

If all food and fluids (nutrition and hydration) are removed from a person -- whether that person is a healthy Olympic athlete who takes food and fluids by mouth or a frail, disabled person who receives them by a feeding tube -- death is inevitable. That death will occur because of dehydration.

As a person dies from lack of food and fluids, his or her

Mouth would dry out and become caked or coated with thick material.
Lips would become parched and cracked.
Tongue would swell, and might crack.
Eyes would recede back into their orbits.
Cheeks would become hollow.
Lining of the nose might crack and cause the nose to bleed.
Skin would hang loose on the body and become dry and scaly.
Urine would become highly concentrated, leading to burning of the bladder.
Lining of the stomach would dry out and he or she would experience dry heaves and vomiting.
Body temperature would become very high.
Brain cells would dry out, causing convulsions.
Respiratory tract would dry out, and the thick secretions that would result could plug the lungs and cause death.
At some point within five days to three weeks, the person's major organs, including the lungs, heart, and brain, would give out and death would occur.

The family had asked for Schiavo, who cannot swallow

They wanted to make sure they got that in there one more time, didn't they! MSM makes me so sick!

MY WIFE AND i HAVE BEEN IN THE MEDICAL FIELD FOR 20 YEARS.
WE BOTH TAKE CARE OF TERMINAL AND CHRONIC PATIENTS. i HAVE SEEN PEOPLE TAKEN OFF RESPIRATORS, DNR'D , AND BE GIVEN HIGH DOSE MORPHINE TO INDUCE DEATH. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE HAVE A GASSTROSTOMY PULLED AND STARVED TO DEATH, AND YET PEOPLE HAVE POSTED THAT THIS IS DONE ALL THE TIME. AM I MISSING SOMETHING? IS THIS COMMON IN SOME STATES OTHER THAN MY OWN?

Greer and Felos are both members of the Hemlock Society. And they are both involved in the hospice chain. They moved Terri into THEIR hospice in order to test out their new euthanasia law, signed by Jeb Bush in 1999.

Probably not, but I'm not a lawyer. I did, however, stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

That leaves a loophole for the needle, overdose by medication, crucifixion, hanging drawing and quartering, stabbing, a shot in the head, guillotine, or any other means. Otherwise, Floriduh might pass a law in the middle of the night making that legal.

Remember, cruel and inhumane only applies to animals and convicted serial killers and perverts, etc.

Some of those other horrors would have been faster and more painless overall in the end if you really think about it.

It was reported in the media that two priests took part in giving Terri the Holy Sacrament of Extreme Unction, when her feeding tube was removed eight days ago. May God forgive us for failing to save Terri.

Terri Schiavo, please forgive us.
Our Lady of La Salette, pray for us.
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.
Saint Athanasius, fierce fighter of the Arians, pray for us.
Saint Clare, the great apostle of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration, pray for us.
Pope Saint Pius X, pray for us.
Saint Padre Pio, pray for us.
Sister Maria Lucia of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart, pray for us
Saint Michael the Archangel, bring ruin to those who
intimidate, oppress, imprison and separate His faithful servants.

We need to get the hospice closed down. The doctors licenses revoked and the judicial system overhauled so that this will never ever happen again. There should be a full scale investigation of Greer, Felos and Shavio. What money where and what was rejected in case of the court.

He's probably got his e-mail set up to BLOCK anything anywhere remotely related to Terri or her family.

Would not want to see it and be 'troubled.'

My gosh.

I'm begining to think of him as a closet Democrat.

Him, not me. If I were a Democrat I'd be cherring him on.

Fortunately, that's not how our system works. You may want him to be left defenseless so he can be killed easier as some form of moral retribution, but thankfully our nation is still a nation of laws, and not a theocracy where those deemed guilty in the eyes of the righteous are fair game.

AP News is reporting that the husband has denied Terri communion on Easter.

What did they expect after calling him a murderer and dragging him through hell for seven years. They could take him to court without getting personal but no they couldnt restrain themselves. Not a surprise to me. I really, really doubt that Terri is going to know one way or the other. Besides she had communion and last rites about three weeks ago.

These poor people are most likely mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually exhausted.

Prayers for them and their daughter.

I'm with you. Can you imagine two brothers holding the Executive powers of the state in play and the nation, and they couldn't stop the starvation death of an innocent victim whose diagnosis was suspect and ordered reviewed by an extraordinary act of Congress???? It's too unbelievable to me. Unfortunately, what they have done must also be the politically popular thing to do. I don't watch any MSM, but I gather it's pretty heavy against saving Terri's life...St. Maximillian Kolbe, pray for us.
