PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — As Terri Schiavo (search) drew closer to death Saturday, a state judge rejected another attempt by the brain-damaged woman's parents to reconnect her feeding tube, leaving the couple with little hope they could keep her alive.
Her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler (search), planned to appeal the ruling to the state Supreme Court later Saturday, family spokesman Gary McCollough said. The high court last week refused to intervene for the Schindlers.

I mentioned this is a post last evening, but if MS and the judges are correct, there should be no need to bar family members from offering her shaved ice by mouth. Their argument is that she must be kept alive by life support, and she is therefore in a PVS. If that is true, the pull the feeding tube but allow her to have liquids, jello or anything else she can swallow. The fact that they are using guns to keep the parents from offering her even a few drips of water illustrates that they know very well that she can indeed take hydration and possibly even nourishment by mouth.
Yes. It's the Schindler's tenacity and fight that makes me understand that their daughter would be no different than both of her parents. She has been fighting for her life all along and wants to stay alive. She would never have survived this long otherwise.

I strongly disagree with this.
God will allow the free will of every human being, even the evil. Governor Bush's statement that he has done everything possible and wants the people to know that he cannot do any more reminds of another governor who said the same thing on a Good Friday about 2,000 years ago.
In truth, Jeb Bush is the highest official in the State of Florida. He could write a proclamation stating that he believes Terri Schiavo's civil and religious rights are being abused or overlooked by the Courts, and that he orders her feeding tube reinserted while a full investigation takes place by the FBI, State Police and others. He then takes this proclamation to the hospice where Terri Schiavo is being starved to death, and he brings with him two dozen heavily armed and very large State Troopers. He also brings with him an armed contingent of the Florida National Guard, of which he alone is in control of. He has the proclamation read to the local police by his Deputy Governor, the Cheif of the State Police and the General in charge of the National Guard.
Then he simply goes inside the hospice with his troops and his medical team and he takes Terri Schiavo to the nearest hospital to save her life.
If he really wants to get creative, another option would be for Governor Jeb Bush to declare the hospice in violation of certain State health statutes and codes and temporarily shut them down, bringing ALL the patients to a local hospital while the investigation takes place. NO judge will prevent the Governor from investigating a public health violation.
The bottom line is this; the judiciary are usurping their Constitutional power and authority and they have the ba!!s to stand up to the Governor, the House of Representatives and the President of the United States and thumb their noses at them. Meanwhile, the 'good guys' have no such courage to do likewise to the usurpers and death dealers in black robes.
If someone did, the obvious question would be: "Why now and not sooner."
