63% in Florida oppose government intervention in Schiavo case
Sun Sentinel ^ | March 26 2005 | Rafael Lorente

WASHINGTON -- By a margin of almost 2-to-1, likely Florida voters feel strongly that Congress and President Bush should have stayed out of the battle over Terri Schiavo's fate, according to a new poll conducted this week for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and Florida Times-Union.

You have no clue. Under FL the parents as guardians would have been requried AS A MATTER OF LAW. to put the money in trust for terri AND they would have been required to provide annual reports accounting for EVERY DIME to ensure it was spent on Terri. In some extreme cases the reports can be ordered more frequent. (I have seen quarterly court reports)

The money point is a red herring BS point brought forward by the Democrats and the MSM. It is about as real as Dan Rather's air guard docs.

My last post to you.....no use debating with someone that has no clue about the subject being debated.

All of the financial records are sealed on orders by Greer. Michael requested it. Look it up.

I say media snowjob.

The question was:

Teri Schiavo was removed from painful life support by her loving husband. Her parents with the backing of Representative Tom Delay (R-TX) and the Radical, Republican Religious Right in Congress, the White House and Tallahassee are defying the learned judiciary and the Constitution to force life on an unwilling Teri Schiavo.

Should the government intervene and impose it's unpopular will?

YES
NO

re: I dont believe that

Doesn't matter whether you believe it or not. People in the time of Columbus didn't believe the world was round either, but it still was. People didn't believe Ronald Regan when he said if we stand up to the Russians they will back down, but they did. Check out Michael's comments on the Larry King show when he was asked about his shackup girlfriend.

You're missing the point entirely. It's death sentence by poll numbers. It's ok to murder if the majority says it is. No moral interjection at all, merely numbers.

(s)don't worry we now have the Whitmore Test. If anyone is in a life or death situation, the courts will generously devote TWO WHOLE HOURS to investigate the medical information, heresay, and "right to compassion" before presuming the person wanted to die. (/s)

Just don't make yourself and incovenience to the wrong person.

Are Fla. seniors terrified of A. being hooked up for years at family expense, or B. have decided they don't want to pay exorbitant medical expenses at all? If that's the case, then Hill's socialized medicine may have great appeal.

Radio commentators on the side of pulling Terri's tube seem sick of the issue. They throw around terms like, we have to cut our losses, decide about quality of life and when to pull the plug...no matter what individuals want because taxpayers are footing most of the bills. They don't want to hear a word about Michael Schiavo's motives or how Terri ended up in this condition. No discussion of large sums of money spent on premature infants, some of whom end up with considerable problems in life. (At least this is dropped in the conversation once in a while on baby birth shows). No mention of money spent on illegal immigrants' medical needs/demands. This is the culture of death, and yes, abortion on demand started the downhill slide. God cannot be pleased.

"....by her loving husband"....an OXYMORON right there!

Definitely a skewed poll to elicit the response the pollster wanted. A snow job indeed!

Point is: Terri was NOT dying before they pulled water and food from her. It's inhumane.
This fact seems to escape all MSM reporting.

God is not pleased yet I know His Justice for Michael and Greer is far greater than we can imagine or inflict!

re: the courts will generously devote TWO WHOLE HOURS

Actually that's more generous than my Dad told me the court system would be to me. He told me they 'won't give you the time of day.' Another phrase he used often was 'they won't give you a drink of water if you're dying of thirst.' Pretty sharp old man, wasn't he? He also had a saying about sweat from a particular part of the male anatomy, but it's not proper to repeat it here.

Truthfully, I have seen very few posts advocating violence or disobeying the law. As for the Jeb Bush thing, a lot of legal scholars, including Judge Bortz, feel Jeb has every right as the chief executive of the state to support the DCF in placing Terri in protective custody. But you are right, a lot of the posts do get pulled and if they're even sorta quick to do it I might well miss them. Many thanks!

You're welcome. I just don't think anyone should be advocating violence or breaking the law.

If we don't like the laws, and there are lots of them around not to like, we need to have the president's judicial nominees appointed and we need to work within to change the laws.

Fellos reminds me of nevil chamberlin waiving a blank paper saying "this is what terri said she wanted."

During "Terri-Starvation - version 2003" Felos ran around "quoting Terri, (in his best Valley girl imitation)

"No tubes for me"

Greer is guilty of failing to protect Terri.

"Umm...don't know much about the Florida Times Union, but the South Florida Sun-Sentinel is a liberal rag. Those poll results are expected"

The Times-Union, out of Jacksonville, is nowhere near a liberal newspaper. It's one of the few conservative leaning papers we have here in Fl. The mainstream population want's less intrusion, this case will prove that, if nothing else.

You can count the average I.Q. of a Florida "likely voter" on th fingers of your hands. These are the same idiots who elected "Judge" Greer to the bench despite zero qualifications, and relected him despite a 1997 financial scandal and 1998 ruling denying a severly abused woman a restraining order against her ex-husband, who then stabbed her to death. A few months later Greer was elected in a landslide.
