Contrary to predictions that Terri Schiavo's starvation death would be painless and dignified, an eyewitness who visited her hospice room early Saturday morning reports that she is now bleeding from the eyes and mouth.
Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends" reported Saturday morning:
"Barbara Weller, who's is one of the attorneys for the Schindlers, says that the last time she checked in, not very many hours ago, Terri's eyes and tongue were bleeding now.
"Her eyes are sunken and her skin continues to flake off," Weller added.
On Thursday Terri's parents reported that their daughter now resembles "an Auschwitz victim."
At the request of Michael Schiavo's attorney, Judge George Greer has banned cameras and video equipment from her room, precluding the possibility that a photographic record of her deteriorating condition might be kept.
The eyewitness accounts stand in stark contrast to predictions from medical experts cited in numerous media reports who insisted that Terri's starvation death would not be gruesome.
On Wednesday, for instance, the Los Angles Times reported:
"Doctors say that going without food and water in the last weeks of life is not traumatic, and that the body is equipped to adjust to such conditions."
The paper quoted Dr. Perry G. Fine, vice president of medical affairs at the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in Arlington, Va.
This is horrible. I lost a sister on Easter Sunday and I do not look forward to Easter that much any more. This brings back memories for me. I am horrified by this. I can't believe this could happen. I am sooo disgusted by our judicial systerm.
Pardon the phrase, but over my dead body. And I am worried sick this crap will land on our shores in short order - I don't want a Dutch style euthanasia policy here.

I watched someone die exactly this way a little more than a year ago (a throat cancer victim who chose to halt all life support) and it was nothing like this at all. The finality was dreadfully sad, but otherwise it actually was rather serene and peaceful as such things go. I'm really skeptical about this claim, especially coming from the same person who claims Terri attempted to speak. I think it's hype. JMO.
There were also reports a few days ago that she was vomiting as her stomach lining dried out. It's gotten so bad that her own mother has had to flee the room with nausea. But no, Scott Schiavo says, Terri is peaceful and relaxed and looks like she is resting comfortably. (Of course he makes these observations while yukking it up at the foot of Terri's bed with miscellaneous friends of Michael's while Terri's father and mother and sister and brother are standing on the curb outside and refused entry for hours on end.)
This is a horrible death, that if incurred on an animal these same 'pro-death' people would wave placards and demand hanging for the perpetrators.
It astounds me that some people put such low value on human life.
May God have mercy on them.
This is such insane barbarism.
I love my country, but I am ashamed of it right now.

Those involved in this sort of evil are never sated with just one.... It is only the beginning of their macabre dance of death. You can only just imagine the demons jumping up and down in glee.

"Evidence how Victor Gambone and Medical Director William Moore had signed and written on Terri's chart in 4/11/2000 -- "based on the patient's diagnosis and current condition, I expect this patient has a limited life expectancy of (six) months or less, if disease continues to take its usual course, and hereby certify patient as eligible for hospice" ..Yet Terri was NOT and NEVER was terminal or diagnosed with any DISEASE giving her 6 months or less to live... "

You watched somebody who was deprived of food and water for over a week? Why do I doubt this story . . .
In a country where an innocent child can be legally murdered in the womb simply because the child is an inconvenience to its mother, how could anyone be surprised that a woman can be legally murdered simply because she is an inconvenience to her husband?
I pray the good people leave Florida soon.
Well, to be sure, the sunken eyes and morbid skin were the case, but the bleeding part wasn't. There was no bleeding, and no suffering of note (heavy sedation is like that).

I'm not as charitable as you. May they rot in hell for eternity.
But they were only following the law. ("Vee vere only following orders.")
Gee, you would think they would WANT a recording device there to be able to show her "calm and peaceful" death through the media so that we would all understand they were "doing the right thing."
NOT!
They obviously knew how gruesome it would become and they don't want the public to see it.
Someone HAS to get a camera in there NOW!
