Jeb must act NOW, and he can, says Keyes Governor has 'supreme executive power'
March 25, 2005 RenewAmerica staff
Thursday, Alan Keyes appeared on MSNBC's Scarborough Country with Joe Scarborough, and on Joseph Farah's national radio show, and declared that Gov. Jeb Bush not only possesses the "supreme executive authority in the state," but must act now to save Terri Schiavo.
When asked if Gov. Bush has done enough to help the disabled woman, Keyes said, "Of course not. He hasn't done anything. She is being starved to death!"

I agree. Keyes is a good talker. I used to have a lot of respect for him, but then the love of politics got in his way.

The FACT that Jeb Bush was able to extend Terri's life for more than a year is conveniently forgotten, isn't it?
It is tragic the Schindler's haven't had better legal advice- but to put this at the feet of Jeb Bush is shameful.

I agree. 15 years in the justice system and all these new medical facts and revelations about the husband are just coming out now. What was he waiting for?

Agree!
And as far as Keyes goes, he's a carpetbagger politician, who was willing to sell his political soul and call for reparations, of a sort, (removing the tax burden for blacks) in order to get elected.
I have no respect left for the man.

Au contraire, the Governor has demonstrated extraordinary courage in distinguishing between his personal feelings and his oath of office. Keyes, on the other hand, has demonstrated that he is unqualified for public office.

Judge Greer is more than the Governor of Florida, he is the President of the US and the US Congress, as well. All hail, the Mighty King George (Greer).

Even if Jeb acted right now I would be surprised if Terri could survive. She's now at 7, going on 8, days without food or water. If her organs could be brought back from the brink after this it would be a miracle.

Its meaningless; the results are still the same. She is being starved by the state as our governor dithers.

Tragically, the Governor of Florida has displayed craven cowardice that will cost an innocent woman her life. He has the power to save Terri yet refuses to use it.
Maybe there is time for him to prove me wrong. I pray he does.

And just where is Alan Keyes while he's making these high brow pronouncements ? Is he at the barricades in front of the hospice making plans to rescue Terri Schiavo? It would speak better of him if he tried and, singing, went to jail just like Martin Luther King ala Birmingham.
A suggestion to the "Let's Blame Gov. Jeb Bush" crowd. Put your money where your mouth is. Drop everything right now. Use your vacation drive time. Drive down to Tallahassee, ask for a conference with Gov. Bush. or his lawyer and let them tell you why he's almost or by now, out of options. No excuses, just do it.
It's easy being an arm chair activist with a key board. It's a damn site harder to get off your butt and call an honorable man a coward to his face.
For you arm chair activist already in Fla. Judge Greer is an elected Judge. Why don't you look into the Fla. laws and see if you can start a recall campaign, after you have joined the others in Tallahassee.
