I'm just suggesting that if she didn't want to be left alone to die in this situation she was much more negligent in marrying Michael Shiavo than Judge Greer has ever been in this case (or in the referenced case involving the murdered estranged wife). Wow. If someone told me someone said that I would not believe it, unless I had seen it with my own eyes. Maybe it's just too late and I am imaginging it.
Let's see, Judge (so what's a little negligence where justice and you sacred rights are concerned) Greer, instead of appointing a guardian ad litem to represent Terris interests before the Court, contended that he could evaluate her interest properly. By doing so, Greer violated both Canon 5(E)1 and 2 of the Florida Judicial Canons, which prevent a judge from serving as a guardian except for a member of the judges family, and Florida statute 744.309(b), which states the Canon in a statute enacted by the Florida legislature.

AH yet Greer granted none of what you mentioned. Even the lowest standard of proof is needed for TRO.
I could get one with no other proof other than a police report.

Don't laugh. I had a restraining order on my ex husband and quite frankly it wasn't worth the paper it was written on. Despite the order, my ex got away with following me all across town and back (about 50 miles give or take), tried to run me off the road, was allowed to move into an apartment approx 1000 yards away from the home I owned, was found within 10 feet of my residence countless times and not even arrested let alone prosecuted. On only one instance did they finally prosecute when he came after me with a pipe, but only because my attorney threatened to turn over the 911 tapes and the names of the neighbors who witnessed it to the press if they didn't prosecute. He was convicted and was sentenced to two days in jail which he was allowed to spend instead picking up roadside garbage for a few hours.
Best advice I got came from the one sympathetic cop who responded to one of my calls for help. He told me to learn how to defend myself and stay the heck away from my ex and any other abusive thugs!

Excellent post.
After very carefully reading this posted thread on the Greer bio and other material on this guy Greer, your creative post is quite correct!
The guy has no qualifications, only whatever came easy to his benefit. He's a sick and evil lowlife. He should have a real uncomfortable afterlife!

You know, it's articles like these that make me wonder where the multitudes of libertarian puritans on Free Republic have gone.
I suppose that according to their puny little souls there is no such thing as a crocked judge. So what if a human being is starved to death on purpose? Just so long as "states rights" are protected.(sarcasm off)

"That's a pretty weak charge."
Tell that to the gal who was murdered. Tell that to her family.
"Restraining orders aren't very effective at preventing a murder, and who knows what kind of evidence the wife presented to the judge."
True. But, it would have been an extra bit of insurance. It would not have hurt.
"She was the one who was negligent in marrying a man with such a dark side."
Wrong. According to that way of thinking, you would have to conclude that the rape victim is partly responsible for dressing provocatively. You would have to conclude that the mugging victim bears responsibility for walking in a rough area of town. You would have to conclude that the home owner who has a home invasion robbery bears responsibility for owning a home.
