True. But, it would have been an extra bit of insurance. It would not have hurt.

Wrong. According to that way of thinking, you would have to conclude that the rape victim is partly responsible for dressing provocatively. You would have to conclude that the mugging victim bears responsibility for walking in a rough area of town. You would have to conclude that the home owner who has a home invasion robbery bears responsibility for owning a home.

Not at all. The rape victim generally has no agreement of trust and intimacy with the rapist, whereas a wife has entered into such an agreement with her husband and can reasonably be expected to choose her mate carefully.
