CINCINNATI -- A former boy band member announced his plan to run for Cincinnati mayor Friday.

Justin Jeffre, (pictured left, third from left) a singer and dancer in the former pop group 98 Degrees, will launch his campaign April 2 at Purgatory nightclub in Over-The-Rhine.

The club announced the event and publicized Nick Lachey and friends as the hosts.

Lachey, also a Cincinnati native, was a 98 Degrees bandmate. He currently stars in the MTV reality series 'Newlyweds.'

I had a saying during the early 90s. " I wouldn't know the new kids if I were kicking one in the head". 98 degrees sounds like more of the same.

"Better than what Cincinnati has now."

Amen. Cincinnati could do worse, in fact, it does.

"Better than what Cincinnati has now."

Yes, I'll give you that. A dog would be better than our city's current demwit Mayor. But having said that, I still don't want some punk Menudo wanna-be's ugly face on my local news every night.

The leadership in this city now just stinks to high heaven, and having blondie boy in the mix doesn't really change that one bit. Actually it just makes a mockery of the city in a new way.

People that live here know that this city does some of the stupidest things imaginable. I live in the suburbs and I'm considering moving even farther away because the dem rats leaving the sinking Cincy ship are getting closer and closer to where I live every day.
