to fourteen days. It is an extremely agonizing death and
A conscious person would feel it (dehydration) just as you and I would. They will go into seizures. Their skin cracks, their tongue cracks, their lips crack. They may have nosebleeds because of the drying of the mucous membranes, and heaving and vomiting might ensue because of the drying out of the stomach lining. They feel the pangs of hunger and thirst. Imagine going one day without a glass of water.
This case of Terri Schiavo is a classic example of how far America has traveled down the road to legalized euthanasia and officially sanctioned death sentences for the disabled.

I consider myself a conservative, but over the past week, I've begun to wonder whether there's anything in this nation worth conserving.
Conserving, I do not know.
Saving, yes: Souls.

Think I'll send my secretary for a big glass of ice water and celebrate my taking over the USA
and setting the way for Judicial murders all over my Amerika."

Well said. I follow news and issues pretty closely, and I knew that the courts needed to be fixed (I voted for Bush, twice, primarily with the hope he will put conservative judges on the bench), but I would never have guessed a week ago that things were indeed this bad. This case this week has been a wake-up call for me, and I thought I was already awake!
I spoke with a physician friend of mine who said dying by starvation & dehydration is NOT painful, that the endorphins kick in and you just become weaker. I tend to listen to doctors about this. This article link had no info on this.
When Stephen King writes the history of this horror story, Robert Duval can play Greer in the movie.
It would be bad enough if this were being done to an indigent with no family or supporters, but the worst part of this case is that Terri's parents and siblings stand ready and are literally begging the courts to let them take care of her. They aren't even allowed to put water in her mouth and try to help her swallow, even though a former nurse has testified that Terri has swallowed pudding and jello (and the food obviously wasn't aspirated into her lungs).
You complicate the problem and then whine about its effects.
By your own references what you posted is a lie. You let your emotions overide your reading abililty! Or maybe not!
Well, there was no one specific article on this topic. I was just looking around with a search engine and reading up on it. Thats why I posted a link, to search for the articles.
Some of my friends were thinking that she is dying from starvation, and that is not the case. It is dehydration.
Maybe just the first couple of days is painful, until the endorphins kick in.
Goodness.
Reminds me of my phone call to the Gov's office.
I asked the very polite young man if Gov. Bush had set up a time at which he would announce he was going to throw in the towel.
He said no, there wasn't.
I said that in the press yesterday Gov. Bush had said he had done everything legal, and that implied he was going to throw in the towel.
The young man said they were looking into things.
I asked him what would an impeachment do to Gov. Bush.
He seemed a bit surprised.
Asked me if I mean his job..
I asked him what was the worst thing that would happen to Gov. Bush if he got impeached.
He asked where would I be going with these questions.
I said at some point Gov. Bush had to decide what was more important to him...his job or the life of the girl. It was going to come to that.
He said that they had attorneys looking into all the legal ways to help terri.
My reply was Gov. Bush was going to have to chose what was more important.
He said they were doing everything they could.
I said, "If Terri dies, then you didn't do everything, did you?"
There was a pause..for about 2 seconds then he hung up.
NOTE: I was very quite (and polite, honest) during the entire conversation. I hope (think) he knew I wasn't just jerking his chain because it was a good quiet discussion on both sides.
I could tell he was stunned.
Okay.
Ask him to starve himself and ask him to be sure to take plenty of notes.
If he declines, you may have one less source.
You have to try much harder to upset us.
We expect names. And stones. And sticks.
And now, no food.
oh really? has the doctor been through it? reminds me of when doctors used to tell women that menopausal symptoms were in their head. people who have come close to death by dehydration tell a different tale. and since Terri needed medication for discomfort during her monthly period, i dare say she's aware of something.
The *problem* is people like you.
That is as humane and kind as saying the first several assaults might be painful until.....
Is that really the type of person you are, when the lights are out in the dead of the night?
