MSNBC reported that the Schindlers are back in court asking Judge Greer to recuse himself and that Terri's father says Terri told him, 'I want to live,' and on that basis, the feeding tube should be put back in.

Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, and please treat anything I saw about legal matters as from being from a complete layman.

I have some hope on the 11th Circuit; if they give Judge Whittemore's second decision a careful look, I believe that they will find it deficient:

http://www.flmd.uscourts.gov/al-arian/Opinions/Schiavo-v-Schiavo-2ndOrderDenyingTRO.pdf

Also, I think that Judge Wilson's arguments in his dissent now are even more compelling than they were earlier in the week, with Mrs. Schiavo now in extremis. (However, I would not expect that Judge Wilson's arguments from his dissent will again be considered by the 11th.)

It is not clear what that new emergency motion might be.

I hope it is a challenge of Greer's clearly illegal order that no food or water can be given to Terri by mouth.

Judge Greer has not only ordered that her feeding tube be withdrawn (the so called "artificial" support) he has also denied a request by her parents that she be given water and food by mouth. This order is clearly illegal because it crosses over into the status of active euthanasia. Has Florida passed such legislation? No judge or guardian has the power to deny a person nourishment by natural means and it does not take an attorney to figure this out. I defy anyone to find legal authorization, even in Florida law, for this order.

As is stated in another thread on an article by a doctor (William Anderson) in the Weekly Standard titled "Terri's Last Chance" there is no medical, legal or moral reason to not attempt a trial of natural drinking. He argues all the outcomes of such a trial, even if it results in a quicker death, are better than refusing to allow her to attempt to take food and water on her own. Only Greer's order stops this and such an order is not within the power of a court to make. Today I read the report of the physician selected by the Shindlers who examined Terri and he seemed hopeful about her ability to swallow water and food.

Jeb and George Bush should blast Judge Greer out of the water on this illegal order and immediately give her water by mouth. They should simply walk into the Hospice with federal and state health officials and give her water. Who is going to stop them? Why obey an obviously illegal order. Greer is only getting away with this order by default because there has been so much focus on the feeding tube. We don't know if Terri could accept enough nutrition to stay alive but every human being has the right to try to take a drink of water and this is what her parents want. At the very least it will demonstrate that we will not stand idly by while a person is illegally being denied food and water in the natural way. On the chance that Terri can be sustained by mouth feeding, this could allow time to dismiss Greer for violating her human rights by his order and overturn the guardian decision.

I hope everyone hurries.

I'm finding myself reminded of Terri every few minutes in a rather unusual way. Every winter my lips chap. Every one but this one. I've been using some good lip balm and so it's not been so bad. But 3 days ago, my lower lip felt chapped. Nothing helps. Yesterday, it split. As though I'm parched.

I've one tiny little split in my lip and it's bugging me to death -- burning and stinging. I wonder how my poor sister Terri's lips feel.

Let it NEVER be said that the WONDERFUL parents and siblings of Terri Schiavo, did NOT do everything humanly possible to save their daughter's life. Terri can be most PROUD to have a family such as hers.

I am heartbroken for all of them and am so sorry for all they have had to suffer. I am OUTRAGED that those who have the power to end their extraordinary suffering, refuse to do so.

The Schindler's lawyers are awful: they appear to reiterate the same arguments and hoping someone agrees with them.

Continuing to do the same thing and expecting a different result is often a sign of insanity.

This may be trivial, but it's so simple and trivial it might work - or not. Couldn't Jeb Bush find some charge against Terri and have her arrested and picked up? Surely she has evaded taxes for some time, has not filed her property tax listing or something. The government can always come up with some charge.

This is all surreal to me... I do not recognize the country I live in anymore. We are all just standing back and watching as activist judges have sentenced an innocent woman to death?! And no one can do anything?! Simply astounding. Is it time we re-asses what has happened of our Constitution and how did it become that non-elected judges hold all the power in this country. This is just unacceptable.

I think this is all hopeless as far as saving Terri goes but could be useful in laying groundwork for future litigation. I'm no lawyer but I would think Terri's parents should have grounds for suing this guy til the cows come home. Normally I don't go for such legalese but in this case I hope they make his life miserable.

I have no problem letting a terminal patient go if enough time has passed, if the whole family agrees and there is no hope for rehabilitation. I think for a vegetable to be on a feeding tube for 15 years is ridiculous. But that's not what we have here from what I understand. There was hope for Terri with therapy which Schiavo denied. He squandered therapoy money on legal fees trying to kill her. He is a jerk and deserves to be sued for the rest of his life over his dismal handling of this.

God bless them. The adulterous husband easily turned his back on Terri, but those who really care about her fate just keep going and going. They're wonderful, wonderful parents, and outstanding American citizens.
