PINELLAS PARK, Florida (CNN) -- The father of Terri Schiavo, the severely brain-damaged woman whose feeding tube was removed a week ago, said Friday his daughter is "down to her last hours."
Bob Schindler, Schiavo's father, said, "Terri is weakening. ... Something has to be done, and has to be done quick."
Schindler said the family's hopes lie with the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta, Georgia, which is hearing -- for the second time this week -- an appeal claiming Schiavo's due process rights have been violated.
Schiavo is in her seventh day without food or water since Pinellas County Circuit Judge George Greer ordered the tube removed for the third time.
The case is again in the federal appeals court, where a three-judge panel will rule on the motion filed by attorneys for Schiavo's parents.

heh heh heh.....
Obviously Laz is the psychotic one, not you.
Oh my, what is MS didn't exactly drop dead, but went into a PVS?
You need help.
Doctors for Michael Schiavo have said that an MRI and PET are not necessary for Terri because PVS is primarily a clinical diagnosis, that is, one arrived at on the basis of examination of the patient, rather than by relying on tests. And the neurologists I have spoken to agree on the clinical nature of the diagnosis, while insisting that advanced tests nonetheless are a necessary part of it. But the star medical witness for Michael Schiavo, Dr. Ronald Cranford of the University of Minnesota, has repeatedly dismissed calls for MRI testing, and his opinion has prevailed.
Dr. Cranford was the principal medical witness brought in by Schiavo and Felos to support their position that Terri was PVS. Judge Greer was obviously impressed by Cranfords résumé: Cranford travels throughout the country testifying in cases involving PVS and brain impairment. He is widely recognized by courts as an expert in these issues, and in some circles is considered the expert on PVS. His clinical judgment has carried the day in many cases, so it is relevant to examine the manner in which he arrived at his judgment in Terris case. But before that, one needs to know a little about Cranfords background and perspective: Dr. Ronald Cranford is one of the most outspoken advocates of the right to die movement and of physician-assisted suicide in the U.S. today.
In published articles, including a 1997 op-ed in the MinneapolisSt. Paul Star Tribune, he has advocated the starvation of Alzheimers patients. He has described PVS patients as indistinguishable from other forms of animal life. He has said that PVS patients and others with brain impairment lack personhood and should have no constitutional rights. Perusing the case literature and articles surrounding the right to die and PVS, one will see Dr. Cranfords name surface again and again. In almost every case, he is the one claiming PVS, and advocating the cessation of nutrition and hydration.
Seems Dr. Cranford was an "expert witness" in many cases and has an agenda. More info on him at the link. It has EVERYTHING to do with this doctor.
Greer would make himself Guardian Ad Litum again and finis the job.
I think the scariest apect of this case is that this woman is being killed based on hearsay....you know, the type of evidence that's not allowed in a courtroom....you know, the place where it was determined that a woman should be killed based on hearsay.
My dear cajungirl, if you were with me right now I'd hug you.
Such nice thoughts in this somber hour. My heart has been breaking all week and advanced at an alarming rate with death approaching this woman.
I thank you for your fine words. I wish that those voices be elevated throughout this land.
We wil soon all need it.
By that reasoning, how many 13 lines are there in the nation? How many 13 intersections? Billions?
Why you use arc minutes but not seconds?
God knows I don't want her to suffer, and I pray she isn't, but I've got to hope she hangs on another month and that her family can smuggle pictures out so that America can see what these liberal bastards stand for.
Hartranft wrote: "May Michael Schiavo find the remainder of his life miserable and painful. He should be berated, chided, and shunned wherever he goes. And someday when he needs it most, I hope someone has an opportunity to deny him food, or mediacl attention, so he can dies slowly and painfully."
I understand your reasons for feeling this way, but as a Christian, I pray for both Michael and Terri. Seriously! May God forgive Michael!
Remember, we shall all be judged by the same standards we apply to others.
Even if it isn't easy to forgive someone in this situation, the best outcome is repentance and forgiveness for all.
Appealing to the same courts and judges over and over again isn't going to bring about a difference answer and that is what they are doing. The judges are standing firm. At this point they just need to make her comfortable. When bleeding through the nose and mouth occurs it is near the very end. She is past the point of return. What you can do is if these judges are voted in - don't vote for ungodly people. Make changes in our laws - conflict on interest on the part of a "guardian" should be questioned and properly dealt with. I pray she goes peacefully without pain and her family is vindicated.
Those of us who follow Fatima, and the recent death of the last Fatima witness Sr. Lucia, weren't really expecting great things to happen going forward.
The next thing these people will try to do is euthanize the Pope. Just watch -- it will be suggested.
It's the fervent dispatch of disabled and useless that draws the parallel to Nazism. Can you explain why it should not, other than calling it "obsurd" [sic]?
I do agree about the hatred on the Terri threads, tho. Civility is the first thing to fall away in combatting evil I guess.
I think he just said he loved me!! As old as I am!! Iam suspicious he just wants my lovely 40 gig IPOD.
FYI...see my #146...Dr. Cranford had EVERYTHING to do with it.
