That's okay. I think the whole "let nature take it's course" shtick is getting pretty lame.

Section. 1.The judicial Power of the United States shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.
If Congress can "ordain and establish" the inferior courts, that supposes setting their jurisdiction.
To: sola_fide
I wasn't referring to you, Freeper sola_fide, I was talking about Rush casting himself as moral arbiter of America. Actually, I believe several days ago I wondered what prevented Gov Bush from "pardoning" Mrs. Schiavo when he can also commute the death sentence of an accused murdered.
History is for the bold.
Also, does anyone think Gov Bush may feel straight-jacketed by the fact his brother is president?

Does anyone else crack up when they hear Rush's phony ad for the "What a Load Foundation?" It was just on his 24/7 broadcast. I lose it every time I hear that one.

Exactly. Rush always gets to the bare bones of the issues....what is right and what is wrong. Well, I won't go that far. But, he said early on that ideology is not driving him on this matter. In itself, that is huge.
When he is ideology driven, is "relentless search for the truth" utilizes his massive "talent" to prop his ideology; which is at it should be. Some bones are more bared than others.

Congress can establish vacated inferior courts. They can also vacate inferior courts.

By this logic shouldn't paralyzed people be "allowed" to die? This is a very slippery slope I think. When quality of life considerations become our criteria we are on dangerous ground imo. You make a point that's been on my mind for days. I've seen a lot of posts on FR from people saying, "I wouldn't want to live like Terri Schiavo! Let her die fergawdsakes!" While I believe each of us has an absolute right to determine our own end of life wishes, I've wondered about this. How many of these same people would say of a quadraplegic, "I wouldn't want to live like that! If that happens to me, someone just shoot me please!" I think we'd find a lot of crossover between the two. If we're to let Terri die because we wouldn't want to live like her, how far are we from saying we should let a quadraplegic die because we wouldn't want to live that way?

I expect the President's power is limited to convictions in fee=deral court --Neither he nor the governor to my knowledge have the power to overturn federal or state civil rulings.

Fortunately for you, Terri Freaking Shiavo will be dead soon.

Answer this: If the President can stop an execution of someone in death row, even a mass murderer, why can't he stop the sentence of death for Terri????

He's got more important things to do, like making the border safe for Mexican illegals.

Al is a piece of crap. Wonder if he would feel the same if he was Mr. Schindler and his daughter was Terri?

Come on. That's not fair, and I expect you know it. The President cannot pardon Mrs. Schiavo because there isn't anything for which to pardon her. She's been convicted of no crime. I admit there is no small amount of irony in this, but the President's (or Governor's) authority to grant a pardon does not apply in this case.

Well God didn't take her 15 years ago, so now her husband decided her life is of now value. Sad when there is a loving family who spent more years with her that want her and love her unconditionally.
