I thought that the plural of "octopus" was "octopii".

sneak away by walking on two arms while pretending to be a bunch of algae
Yeh, we always knew they were tricky. Devious. And we know clams have legs. They don't fool us.

looking like "a clump of algae tiptoeing away." The tip-off is that real algae doesn't move quite as fast when it tiptoes away from danger.

O. aculeatus was seen raising two arms above its head Disguising itself as French while it tiptoes away. The tip-off here, is that the French run away faster than the octo-beings.

You dictionary divae appear to be on a fishing expedition.
{I know octopus are related to clams not fish but heck who's countin')

To the best of my undestanding, only 3.14 octopusses would be Octo-pi. A single octopussy is a James Bond flic. Once it has left the scene, it's an octogon. And if it gets cold, it's Octobrrr.
And now, please accept my sincerest apology for the worst puns I've come up with yet.

Not surprising. They can walk away from aquariums quite a long distance before shrivelling up.

trying to sneak away by walking on two arms Wait a doggone minute. How do they know the two tentacles were the legs and not the arms? This is bogus and bad science. (Is doggone spelled with two GGs or one G?)

One observation that was not included in this article was the reactions of the predators to the walking algae. One grouper was noted to be startled by the algae with legs, and began singing, "What's it all about, Algae?".

The other one that gets me is when people try to sound more intelligent by pronouncing the "-es" at the end of a pluralized word as "-eez", no matter what the word is.
In fact, the only time it's supposed to be pronounced that way is when the singular ends in "-ex", such as "index" becoming "indices".
