As recently discussed in On the Rule of Law, "... the rule of law carries the ever-present danger of becoming rule by judges and lawyers. "

It seems clear that we now have but one trunk of government, the judicial. The former branches are now appendages of the superior. The legislative appendage serves clerically, preparing "laws" (read briefs) for the judiciary, while the executive appendage carries out the enforcement orders of the judiciary.

Governor Bush has nothing to lose as an incumbent. Clearly he's posturing for something larger and has consulted his pollsters.

Somebody, please convince me that I'm wrong. There is no other plausible explanation unless he has had his testacles removed.

Happy Easter, Governor. Enjoy your mother f*&%^&ing ham.

Yep, looks like Jeb is going to take the Pontius Pilate approach. Happy Easter!

You're right. So in Jeb's eyes, if the FL State Supreme Court declared because of some technicality in the FL State Constitution that some minority group did not have the right to vote, he would uphold that law.

Everyone who is not a Leftist sees the incredible problem we have by not having a legislative loopback to trump judicial activism, but no politicians are willing to do anything about it.

Beautiful.

Jeb has done enough, but he must draw the line somewhere.

Avoiding a constitutional crisis is a good place to draw the line.

No, no, no Governor. Quit pulling a Clinton on the public by parsing words and phrases and tell it like it is. It's not a matter of "within the powers that I have". It has become a matter of the powers Judge Greer tells you that he will allow you to have.

Too many judicial scholars with unquestionable credentials have stated that you DO HAVE the authority to save Terri Schiavo's life but you choose to be a servant of Judge Greer instead of the law you swore to uphold.

You Sir, are a charlatan.

If we had that ability to do it, if there wasn't an injunction, we would do it right now.

Oh, he still has the ability to do it, injunction or no. The act would clearly be within his statutory authority as chief executive of the state. No court can legitimately restrain him from the exercise of his executive perogative to carry out his duties under the Florida Constitution and statutory law. This is a judicial usurpation pure and simple.

The question isn't: Can he? It's will he? And I think the answer will prove to be: NO.

Since when is 1/3 a majority?!"

Two branches of government have spoken in unisen, the third dissembles and the other two shut up. Since when? Is one third more right than the other two by necessity - no. How did they become a majority? Simple, because the other two branches assent. Isn't that what we've been fighting against. Bush needs to stop assenting to giving them majority status by default and act. Get off your BUTT Jeb!!

Let's face it EVERY politician and judge are puppets for the special interests and lawyers. Law enforcement exists to protect POLITICIANS and JUDGES and serve the SPECIAL INTERESTS and LAWYERS!

Unfortunately the rest of us are left out of the entire equation!

Quick answer: Pass a law that no innocent person can be denied food and water by anyone including the courts.

Catch 22: The courts admit that Terry can take food and water by mouth by the act of denying it to her. She doesn't need the tube. If she can take nourishment by mouth, then she is not eligible for what the courts are doing to her. It is only because they shifted feeding from orally to the tube that they are able to kill her.

When she passes, can Jeb Bush order a autopsy?

I hear that Michael is intending to cover up everything by immediately cremating her and sending her ashes to Pennsylvania.

She had healed broken bones, maybe evidence of damage from previous strangulation and her brain should be looked at after this.

Hope somebody officially forces an autopsy if she is forced to die.
