FRENCH TOAST: George Soros lost the latest round of his 16-year battle with French regulators. Photo: Jim Alcorn
Billionaire George Soros, the former investor and current philanthropist and political activist, failed yesterday to convince a French appeals court to overturn his 2002 conviction for insider trading.
Soros, 74, is expected to take his conviction related to the 1988 purchase and sale of shares in Societe Generale to the equivalent of France's Supreme Court in an attempt to clear the sole blemish from his 40-year investment career.
In 2002, a trial court in France found Soros used insider information to turn a quick profit of $2.3 million on his purchase of depressed shares in the French bank.
Soros admitted that he got information indirectly from financier Georges Pebereau that the bank would soon be involved in a takeover battle, but denied it was precise and confidential enough to be considered insider information under French law.
"I knew it wasn't known to the general public, but I didn't consider it privileged," he told the court at the time.
Societe Generale shares had fallen to just over $40 a share from a high of $63 when Soros got the information in September 1988. His Quantum Fund started buying shares in October of that year and eventually shelled out about $7 million in accumulating 160,000 shares of the bank's stock.
Soros emigrated to the U.S. nearly 50 years ago. In the early 1970s, he started Soros Fund Management. His Quantum Fund now has an estimated $8.3 billion under management.
Last year he also angered many conservatives when he unsuccessfully sought to swing the presidential election to Democratic Sen. John Kerry by pumping $27 million into anti-Bush election campaigns.

If Sore-ass wasn`t such a idiot liberal, he would realize that all he would need to do to get out of this would be to tell the French to immediately surrender, and they`d be groveling at his feet for mercy before he even get to the end of saying it. "Immediately surren.." "MONSOOOR PLEASE DONT KILL US! MERCI! WE BEG OF YOOU!"

Why do they call this man a philanthropist? He has never put out one cent without planning to make a dollar off it. Read about this guy he has given money to philanthropical causes, but only to buy the loyalty of those he fed, in order to make a buck.

You would think that the Frogs would cut the quisling Swine Soros a little bit of slack. After all, he spent a bit of his own stolen cash trying mightily to put a quisling Frog [Jacques du Kerry et Hanoi] in the White House. Those Frogs have no sense of gratitude. As for Soros, he isn't getting many takers for whatever he is peddling. First Putin, then the American voters and now the Frogs - all kicking him in the teeth. At this rate his real name is going to be Sorrows. Breaks my heart, really.

They sent Martha 'up the river' for less. Wouldn't it be absolutely delicious if he ends up in prison over this?

And isn't it just such an irony that it was the French that came down on him?

sole blemish I don't think so. Ask Pooty-Poot why he's banned from Russia.

Really. I'm surprised that the French can still recognize corruption.

Soros's "Death in America link" is shown below. $oro$ invested 45 million $'s so the liberals would push his love of Eugenics for the rest of us. Once again we see the work of George $oro$ in the Eugenics of America or as he has labeled it: "Project on Death In America".

lol! That`s right, he`s learning the true nature of the surrender monkeys. Gratitude is not in their DNA. On the other hand, they may be blaming him for Jacques Kerry losing. I was reading an article last year how the frogs were going crazy over Jacques, posters all over France, bumper stickers, all saying vote for Kerry (what country do these frogs think they live in anyway?) and I think it was a huge letdown for them when the ultimate socialist lost. Now they are showing their gratitude to George Sore-ass "You did not spend enough francs to beat le terror killer Bush!" It`s been a hard year for the surrender monkeys. Skerry loses and then their Arab God Arafat croaks. Bwa ha ha ha ha ha!

The 45 million $ investment by $oro$ with the liberal elites to push his Eugenics/Euthanasia goals for the rest of us is very scary.
Of course the MSM and the liberals will ignore this data or praise him.
Makes one wonder how many of the so called conservatives who push the Death is Beautiful bs on Free Republic are electronic Brownshirts paid by $oro$.
