 ALL five members of a family from hell were kicked out of their home and the surrounding area yesterday after a four-year reign of terror.

Anti-social behaviour orders were issued against the Bridge family — who were banned from entering the Wirral in Merseyside for up to seven years.

John Bridge, 40, his wife Karen, 37, and sons John Jnr, 20, Alan, 18, and Luke, 16, terrorised neighbours in New Brighton, a court heard.

The family had used threatening and violent behaviour, verbal abuse and intimidation.

They also indulged in criminal behaviour — including dangerous driving and organised car crime.

Their thuggery was so bad that Merseyside police created a special unit to target them.

The ASBOs, issued at Birkenhead Magistrates Court, ban John, Karen, John Jnr and Alan from entering the Wirral until September 2012. Luke was banned until March 2009.

The five were also banned from causing harassment, alarm or distress to anyone in England and Wales for the same period.

John Jnr and Alan are both currently in jail for other offences.

Chief Supt Alan Jones said after the ruling: “By standing up against the intimidation of this family, members of the community have helped us reclaim their neighbourhood.”

Caroline Laing, boss of Wirral’s Anti-Social Behaviour Team, added: “Residents were incredibly frightened of reprisals.”

Sounds like a good idea. Will look into the legal side of the idea. The whole of Britain needs to know their faces. These people are like locusts, terrorising one area then moving on to the next area of victims. People need to start standing together and fronting these people instead of every one trying to stand alone against them.

Although I live in an area(Appalachian mountains) eat up with these people, we don’t have these types of problems. You see, everyone here is armed. Not only that, there is a lot of lattitude to deal with these problems. You get too out of hand and you wake up in a coal car headed to West Virginia

Ideally, these folks would be relocated to someplace in rural Texas.

Those Texans would give them some lessons in manners.

While I applaud the attempt to deal with this troublemaking family, I was completely unaware that the U.K. utilized these "Anti-Social Behaviour Orders". I think the list found at the following link is supposed to be a compilation of cases where an ASBO was used inappropriately, either because the alleged infraction seemed either too trivial or too violent.

Here in the U.S., Restraining Orders can be used in similar circumstances - but even those aren't handed out as freely as these ASBOs seem to be. I can see using something like this to silence a neighbor who loves to blast loud music late into the night, but some of these cases truly are absurd. You have a history of suicide attempts? Right... stay away from all bridges and bodies of water. Mowing the lawn makes you feel hot and sweaty? Don't even think about mowing in the nude. Like to sing in the shower? Sorry, we'll have no more of *that*.

This is truly a list which would warm the heart of any homeowners' association Nazi. See for yourself. It's a madhouse!!

Will look into the legal side of the idea.

Here in the USA such a site would never survive because the litigious culture here would insure a lawsuit for slander at the very least, even if every word on the site were demonstrably true.

One exception here is the current popularity of web pages hosted by police departments which have pictures as well as quite a bit of additional information on pedophiles as well as prostitutes and their customers.

Perhaps the local police there could be encouraged to make web pages listing ASBO recipients as well as perpetrators of other crimes?  It would certainly help the local people to be able to have such information.

Agreed; and such trash is continually emboldened by their ability to escape justice.  Why be an upstanding person when it's so easy to be a lout?

From the posts in this thread, it appears that they have no intention whatsoever of joining the human race in a coherent manner and they will continue their behaviors in every community that is unlucky enough to receive them.

The fact that the 'father' in particular is still alive is a testament to the incredibly gracious nature of our British Friends and of their ability to withstand all manner of adversity.

Such a shame that they are having their kindness tested in such an ugly way, however.

Although I would certainly not wish such unpleasantness upon the good people of the Lone Star State (everyone that I've ever met who is from Texas has been SO NICE to the stoat) I agree that this 'family' would be taught a severe lesson.
