For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
I send greetings to all those celebrating Easter, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through His sacrifice and triumph over death, Christ lifted the sights of humanity forever. In His teachings, the poor have heard hope, the proud have been challenged, and the weak and dying have found assurance. Today, the words of Jesus continue to comfort and strengthen Christians around the world.
During this holy season, we thank God for His blessings and ask for His wisdom and guidance. We also keep in our thoughts and prayers the men and women of our Armed Forces -- especially those far from home, separated from family and friends by the call of duty. May the joy of Easter fill our hearts with gratitude for our freedom, love for our neighbors, and hope for peace.
Laura and I wish you a Happy Easter.
I don't have the heart for it. I'm so discouraged about Terri Schiavo. Sorry.
Amen. Thanks. Passin' it on.
That line always makes me tear up. As the mother of 3 boys, the love a Father would have to do that, just for us to be forgiven for our sins...
I guess he's sending a daughter this year.
Will the President have some disabled kids over to the WH to hunt for Easter eggs? Better get some permission slips from their guardians before he lets them eat anything.
Rings a little hollow given the news this week, the sad lonely dying of Terri Schiavo, and the abortion performed on a 14 year old child as her mother was arrested for calling out to her.
"The joy of Easter' sounds rather hollow while Terri is deliberately deprived of sustenance and water. While we celebrate the Risen Christ an innocent woman who can't speak for herself is dying in front of the eyes of the entire world.
"The joy of Easter" is never hollow.
It is our reminder that hope and life are our inheritance.
If Terri dies...it will be up to us to give her death meaning; - We must never forget and continue to fight to bring about the changes in hearts and law that will make her time with us a lesson in humanity and a treasure worthy of eternal gratitude.
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. - Romans 8:18
When all else fails, those who trust in Christ's forgiveness for their sins have eternal life to look forward to, even Terri.
I know, thank you. I hope she's a Christian, or a Godly person. And I know discouragement is from the Other.
I used to think his faith was real, as well as his "down to earth" attitude. Now I realize that I too have been sold a bill of goods that doesn't exist. Save your supposed "faith" Mr President - or better yet, save your act for those who still don't see through it.
He has done more than most elected officials would do. He does not have the power of a king or dictator.
Well said! I am so sick of FReepers calling Governor & President Bush "spineless" and "cowards." Bush cut short his vacation to sign last week's legislation. He made statements about the culture of life and the tyrannical judges who legislate from the bench.
Is it impossible for us to have one thread where you all don't come on and post something about Terri?
There are a hundred of them; surely you can find one.
Your post is a prime exhibit of why people are getting sick of some of you.
What kind of "Christian" are you?
