Syracuse U Cheerleader Charged with Murder

A Syracuse University cheerleader was arrested Thursday and charged with murdering the mother of his child.

Chiarra Seals’ body was in the backyard of a home on Avondale Place, in near the university section of the city, early Thursday morning.

Seals (pictured left) was reported missing Wednesday evening, after her two young children were found home alone in their apartment.

In a statement to police, Brian Shaw (pictured right) said he got into an argument with Seals on Wednesday. Shaw admitted to police he hit and strangled Seals, 23, in her apartment at 160 Jasper Street and carried her body in a suitcase and left it in the backyard of a home on Avondale, near his house on Columbus Avenue.

Seals was Shaw’s former girlfriend and the mother of his four-year-old daughter, Essence. Police say Essence and Seals’ 17-month-old son were home at the time and Essence told police she saw her mother being dragged out of the apartment.

Shaw is a member of the cheerleading squad at Syracuse University and a fraternity brother at Sigma Phi Epsilon.

Seals was the great grand-niece of Syracuse Common Councilor Thomas Seals. Shaw has been charged with second-degree murder. Seals’ children were not physically injured and are staying with relatives.

That is exactly why I will not get involved in the Schiavo movement! You and others are using Terri's case for an anti-family, anti-husband political football, and you're publicly accusing Michael Schiavo of murder! That's a very serious accusation, and it's about as far left as you can get.

Then he could later sue her doctors for millions and afterward get a friendly judge to decide she really wanted to die anyway, and the judge would force her to die of thirst.

That way the perp could murder her, collect money and become famous too.

Shaw actually has only one kid, at least by the victim. The victim had two. That doesn't change anything though.
